Marquess Tavern - Menú

Disappointing Sunday lunch, food quality has really gone down with new management, which is a shame. Menu is now quite small. Meat for roast was very poor, pork crackling was inedible, food was cold. Its a real shame as we used to like the food...here

with so many good gastropubs in the neighbourhood, jon and I do not visit as often as we want. the marquess tavern is not more than 15 minutes walk from our apartment, but because it is located on the other side of the upper street of the canonbury sid.

Cosy pub, decent burger good chips nice ales. Worth a repeat visit but not going to set your world on fire. Have heard good reviews of platters and shared meat dishes, will give a try to other places 1st. Duke of Cambridge is a better gastro pub nr angel

The Marquess is now under new management.It is no longer masquerading as a restaurant but has been restored as a very welcoming local pub. The staff are very friendly. Apparently the pub is no longer owned by Youngs but has been acquired by Punch Taverns,consequently...the ales currently being served are Timothy Taylor’s and Tribute,both well kept. I would definitely recommend a visit if you live locally or are in the area .

after two weeks in asia I was desperate for a good pub to eat. I know that some of them think I'm crazy after all British foods have such a bad call, right? wrong! They have listened to many Americans and we all know where this leads!. my very own American had recommended the marquess tavern in canonbury as place with amazing eating. there are better places to spend their money. will not come back. Usually they love this pub and how they come here as it is local, but had a particularly miserable blonde girl behind the bar that stabbed on me when I asked about Cheesy chips. not really quite sure how to put a cheese on an order of chips is so difficult and why they don't want to take my money for a simple question, especially since it is in the usually empty here. but as the miserable girl said, we do not dinge for customers taken point. I think you'll come back here soon. their bad attitude and their lack of basic customer service has turned me off this place.

no no one here for birthday or event!. I have some problems with this place. the first is that it used to be fantastic independent local pub, great eating and a cute interieur. it was then bought by a chain, they made the inner super cheesy, generally soulless, and then the eating gott terrible. it's so sad to see a place go so far. it's such a waste of space in a good neighbourship. I was shocked when my friend had booked it for her birthday party, but she said she just picked it up because it was a good place. she booked on Sunday, 2 weeks before the place 14 people and called a week before and 2 days before the visit. the day of the party...read more

Worst Service Ever. I went twice for birthdays with groups of 12 to 15 people. The food was average, especially since they removed the lamb chops from their already limited menu (for better quality and wider choice in the neighbourhood go to the house When it came to paying they systematically tried to charge us 2 or 3 drinks that either nobody ordered or that were already paid for The service is actually the worst I've ever seen in London!! This was the most awful customer service I have ever experienced. The manager/owner accused me of lying about confirming my table with a member of staff, went on a long rant about how we have been uncontactable (I have the record of the call on...my phone) and that they would never serve a group larger than 8 and if anyone else turned up they would be refused. The pub was empty apart from 2 other tables. Her tone was rude, patronising and I honestly cannot understand why anyone who works with the public would behave in this manner. This was a birthday booking (which she was aware of as she mentioned it in her rant) and she ruined a perfectly nice family lunch. We left and did not eat. Truly...
