"Received a warm welcome and staff were friendly. Premises are well presented. We selected the 3 course Festive Menu. Unfortunately the starter of Prawn and Advocado Cocktail with **** Mary Sauce was disappointing. The prawns were small and of poor texture, and the **** Mary Sauce was thin, watery and tasteless. Rump Steaks were good and cooked just as we ordered. The Peppercorn Sauce was more a gravy than a sauce but enjoyable. The side was a half lettuce with a blue cheese dressing but we both felt that this didn't really work. Both sweets were acceptable. We selected a bottle of Oyster Bay, Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc however at more than £31 excluding a discretionary 10% service charge this was verging on extortionate. It currently retails at £8.50 in several major supermarkets including their markup Once bitten, twice shy."

Sally was incredible. Very attentive, always friendly. She seemed very busy but she took everything in stride. A* waitress!

excellent steak, service and value. the 8oz bark fillet was a few of the best I ever had. I enjoyed three cooked chips, and the new kartoffels were surprisingly good. Sunday 3 cure eating deal has exceptional worth! highly recommended!

We had an amazing dining experience! Our server was delightful and offered great suggestions for dishes that paired well with our choice of steaks. The steaks were cooked to perfection and served promptly. The cocktails were also delicious!

I recently had lunch with friends here to cheer me up and it certainly did. The service we received from Silvia was exceptional she couldn’t do enough for us. We had the three course festive menu which we enjoyed immensely. We will definitely return soon

Amazing eating! everything we had was delicious! if they got the freche garlic brot, make sure it was to share because it was so good! also the crotch salad with honeysenf dress was delicious. also the 8 ounce sirloin with the peppermint sauce and Cloby chips, absolutely amazing!

stunning interieur with attentive personal and high-quality eating. we had an 11-month chair with us and directly from the manager and placed us near a dressing room. we felt very welcomed by the entrance into the building and during our meal. the rump and filet steak was the best quality with delicious sauce and side to accompany it. many thanks to the employees. highly recommended.

Went with family for Christmas Boxing Day dinner menu. Booked a few weeks back in advance having seen their extensive menu. But an Entirely disappointed experience. Certain starter and desserts on the menu were no longer available, even they are selling this as a set menu advertised on their web! No one introduced the types of steaks for us but glad we had a totally different but great experience in their Aberdeen M&C and we knew of the steak types already. The waitress seems impatient to serve maybe cos it’s Boxing Day and there weren’t many customers there and she said the bar closed at 9ish and wasn’t able to serve us even some water at the end after our meal and ordered drinks. "new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
