"Decades ago the restaurant served rustic food in large quantities all with a friendly smile. O'Reillys have kept up with trends and now serve only breakfast and dinner in the dining room and lunch is available in the mountain cafe only. We took the package at $85 pp per day and it is good value. Bookings are necessary due to Covid restrictions but you don't notice. Breakfast starts at 7am and there are good choices, even a European plate with cheeses, meats, pastries, fruit and yoghurt. You can get separate serves of fruit, yoghurt, pastries and breads done your way. The porridge is quite good and I enjoyed the omelette with cheese, spinach and mushroom. Expresso and cappuccino are a few dollars more. Dinner is a 3 course affair starting with soup, usually a choice of two. The cauliflower and chorizo was different but pumpkin is an old favourite. The main course offers fish (salmon), chicken and meat dishes as well as pizza. The standout dish for us was a slow cooked lamb for two served on a board with roast vegetables, rustic pumpkin, beans and potatoes with a red wine reduction, mint sauce and a mustard spread. It was mouth watering and delicious. The pork cutlet was also a generous meal and well cooked. However the desserts were a stand out with professional plating. We tried the panna cotta, the cheesecake, the warm chocolate pudding but my favourite was the sticky date pudding which was surprisingly light. Our waiter Cody suggested the Shane O'Reiily shiraz which was a good match with the food and reasonably priced. Cody was a lot of fun and Christie also was bright and cheery. All the staff were a credit to O'Reillys. We would come back in a heart beat to repeat this fabulous experience."

Nice food but not a large range to choose from. Sometimes can have slower service during peak times.

The retreat is well appointed with restaurant, bar, cafe, library, spa and information centre. Rooms for families or couples, large and small. Great guides. Good menus, professional staff, clean and well kept grounds and gardens.

Only one hiccup from menu, otherwise, amazing quality of food, service and enough choices on menu. Wait staff are all individual, happy and interactive. Great to see all the quality timber furnishing in keeping with the eco forest theme.

We were really disappointed with the dining experience at O’Reilly’s Dining room. There was no a la carte menu. We had to pay $55 each for a 3 course menu of soup, main and dessert. The food was sub standard as was the staff. As for the restaurant it is badly in need of some refurbishment and deep clean. Old carpet, light fittings and furniture. The character of the place is great, but in neglect.

You're in national park and have a monopoly on everything it's not going to be amazing, but it was perfectly acceptable. The decor hasn't been updated since the 90s but that's part of the charm. They have some weird addiction to soup so much soup poured out of that kitchen! But the slow cooked lamb was harmless and presented beautifully on a timber board, and the pumpkin was genuinely excellent. The cheese was supermarket quality, but again, expected and not a disaster. The service was friendly and efficient.

We ordered the A La Carte dishes Chefs special 2 dishes $68...wtf. Chicken breast was super dry and small and the Taggletelle was equivalent to a food court dish at best. Kids menu $20 was a tiny steak very small soda and 2 scoops of ice cream. Also steak dry cooked to a millimetre of cardboard. Wine and beer $10 on average only small in volume. Talk about taking advantage of a captured audience!!! I thought I was in a ski resort but I was just a short drive from semi civilization. Won't get me again $140 and still hungry!!!

We recently stayed at Oreillys and our package included daily breakfast and daily 3 course dinner as well as afternoon tea in the dining room. The breakfast was our favourite. Due toCOVID there is no buffet but instead you are given a menu and you can order as much as you like. The orange juice is included and freshly squeezed also.Dinner is good and there is a lot of variety on the menu to choose from. We enjoyed the share lamb board one night and pizzas on the other night. Staff were friendly and efficient and the dining room seems well run. If you are staying at the retreat I would recommend booking a dining package in advance as this is better value.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at O’Reilleys. The pumpkin soup was not a great start but we selected the shared lamb plate. That seemed to be the meal of the night. There were many boards being carried out groaning with lamb as well as a beautiful selection of vegetables. The meat was melt in your mouth and the veggies delicious. We selected the sticky date pudding for our dessert and it was enormous but also enormously delicious. We had to take half of it back to our room. The staff were some of the best I have ever encountered. They were professional, friendly and informative. Nothing was too much trouble. Our experience was first class and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
