"After many years, on recommendation of others, went to this restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Whilst the food was excellent, the service was atrocious and totally ruined what should have a lovely night out on a very special occasion. Booked for and seated...promptly. Orders for aperitifs taken and drinks brought promptly. Order for wine taken, bottle brought and opened. Then it all went downhill. Waited for over minutes for our meal order to be taken and that only happened because I signalled to the girl behind the bar that I was getting unhappy. First course then took about minutes to arrive. However our main course took until to arrive. I have never ever waited minutes for a main course to arrive. It would not have been so bad if the staff had shown any interest or we had been able to grab hold of one to ask what was going on, they just seemed to totally ignore us! As mentioned earlier, the food, when it did arrive, was very good, it would have been even better if the side order of vegetables my wife had ordered had also arrived. We did ask what had happened to them but when we were told they had been overlooked, decided to just make do and share mine. To add insult to injury, while we were waiting we noticed that other couples were eating dishes that were not on the menu we had been given. I later found out that we were supposed to have been given a specials menu but this had also been overlooked. At the end, the manager was very apologetic and gave a cursory discount however this was not the point. It was a special occasion at a not inexpensive restaurant I would have preferred to pay the full price and not had a ruined evening. Needless to say, we will not be returning."

"So ,after reading up on the restaurant and the taxi driver to the place also affirming what a good choice we made ..sadly it was all downhill from there last night .We arrived 10 minutes early which seemed to be a massive problem to them for some reason ..bearing in mind there was only another 2 tables eating .we took our table and ordered some drinks..my bottle of morretti was pretty warm but no problem. The food ..my partner ordered the mussels..when they came we were immediately transported back to the 70s ..bland is an understatement..some badly defrosted prawns sat on some buttery garlic sauce and a comical garnish .Next up was veal ordered by my partner..again no taste at all in a cream sauce with some boiled out veg ..I had a pasta dish that was bland ..even after I'd heavily salted it .really felt like an Italian restaurant that had rested on its old laurels...safe to say we wouldn't recommend but it was packed out when we left so what do we know"

"Friends took us here after a visit to the cinema. I wasn't expecting Italian food to be as spicy and unfortunately it did distract from the normal Italian flavours in used to and the wine. It was nice food, cooked very well. Starter was the best part followed closely by dessert and the main trailing in a distant 3rd place. There's no sound deadening which the place definitely needs; sound bounced about and it was loud. I'd return to try something else but not sure this would be a familiar haunt. Vegetarian options: The dish I had, Penne Arabbiatia, was too spicy for my liking, especially with the foods subtle flavours and pinot wine."

"We were able to get a walkin table on what seemed to be an otherwise busy night. The food was great, the atmosphere is lovely. It did take a little long between the two courses we ordered, but this restaurant is worth the cost. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £50–60 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Grigliata Mista Fish Prawn Scallops and Squid"
