"We’ve been to this restaurant many times and always had a good experience not sure what was going on this time though…. We received a phone call ten minutes before our booked time stating that the restaurant was going to close early (this was before 7pm on a Saturday evening! as we were just about to walk through the door, they begrudgingly deigned to let us have our planned meal… All fine with the food friendly and helpful waitress but by the time we’d finished our main course at 8.30, we realised we were the only people left in the restaurant (not even any staff who’d all disappeared out the back door when they eventually reappeared, we asked what was going on, but no one was willing to explain other than that they had to close early even the manager refused to give us an explanation needless to say, by this point our idea of a nice relaxing evening had evaporated so we chose not to have desserts. I hope the staff enjoyed their evening off I suspect they will be having many more if the management continue to treat their customers so shabbily (including a couple who hadn’t picked up their phone messages so had arrived for an 8.30pm booking only to be turned away! . Needless to say we won’t be returning…"

Decent food, but there appeared to be only one waiter working in the restaurant. He was good but overworked. Took a while to order food.

The restaurant was busy but the food and service were very good. The food was still hot and fresh when it was served. My dessert portion was generous (and delicious).

Lovely restaurant, decor and music spot on. Service at the table was prompt and informative. Pizza was gorgeous , hot and very tasty. The manager and waiter could not have been more helpful . Lovely lunch with friend.

Awful service, barged out of the way by delivery drivers and their back packs, lgnored by staff too busy dealing with takeaways. Go to the derbion branch, the service is so much better than the shockingly poor service at the iron gate branch.

Came with friends for lunch , delicious, cannelloni, beetroot, salad and a pasta dish with chicken was absolutely delicious, we had room for mini dessert with coffee which was lovely as well. Service was good and the server was very helpful. Looking forward to visiting again soon thank you .

What a lovely visit today with a wonderful, friendly, caring server who couldn’t do enough for us . We enjoyed garlic doughballs, tomatoes, cannelloni and a pasta dish with chicken and mushrooms, but I can’t remember the name!! Served quickly and piping hot fold. had a lovely Baileys coffee afterwards too really enjoyed our experience. Thank you so much.

Oh Pizza Express, what happened? We used to spend a regular lunch time here, interacting with friendly staff and enjoying good food. Haven't been for a while and found the staff standoffish, seemed like the friendly atmosphere has gone. My Sloppy Giuseppe was much less loaded than they used to be. I think the chef had completely forgotten the lemon in my Sicilian Lemon White Chocolate Roulade it was just meringue. Maybe this was a one off we'll go back sometime.

My daughter likes to go here each year for her birthday. Tonight was a great disappointment as the customer service was terrible. It wasn't the waitresses fault who were working really hard but the priority seemed to be the delivery service with the majority of food coming out going in boxes leaving a restaurant full of grumpy customers. They obviously did not have enough staff to provide a restaurant and delivery service. If they continue like this they will lose a lot of customers.

There were a number of starters out of stock but eventually they had a starter in stock. No problem this happens 45 mins later no starters . We ask how long our starters will be. We were told sorry we have a trainee chef on! I then noticed that no one in the restaurant had any food at their table. Trainee chef had no one alongside him, apart from the other kitchen assistant who was sitting at a table having a meal. The manager was oblivious to this as he was taking down Xmas decorations! We got up and left, free drinks were not good enough. This used to be a good restaurant.
