"Generally we found the price of eating out in Switzerland quite expensive, so we tended to alternate Café style dinners with "picnic" dinners in local parks, by the lake etc. Before arriving in Lugano we had read about Manora in a travel guide book which...recommended it for a "cheap eat". As the only language we speak or read is English (sorry) we initially found things in Manora a bit overwhelming, but after walking around and observing what other people were doing, we decided to take the plunge and order our meal. The kind person cooking pizzas also guided us through the process and within a very short time we had a freshly made pizza, made to order We added some salad, wine (me)and beer (husband) and our meal was complete. The next evening we were even more adventurous and ordered grilled and crumbed chicken fillets and hot vegetables. On both nights we resisted the delicious looking desserts, so we could have an icecream walking around the lake"

We have friends and guests from Jain, Muslim, vegan to pasta, fish, and meat. It's not the best restaurant, but it is always good and there: Thank you Manora

The restaurant has a large salad bar, and entries would be cooked when you ordered them from a station. There were a lot of choices for an early dinner and this was an excellent choice for a quick dinner

Everything displayed impeccably, too bad my parmigiana was lukewarm... The eternal problem of buffets... What to have hot in the kitchen and what to display... I would say the parmigiana in the kitchen next time. Ver carta

The soup was very salty, impossible to eat. I reported it, and they didn't even remove it, a real mockery for customers. Nobody apologized, one said you can help yourself to whatever you want, another billed me for the new dish. Then today I go again for breakfast, there is no promotion, the bill for croissants and drinks is 35. I could have gone to better places. I think I don't recommend it anymore, it's changed, and I don't feel like going back like before

Basically, a very positive first impression, as the Marche restaurants are very harmoniously furnished and the food is well presented and the selection is very impressive. Citizens, pizza, pasta, grill, asia, vegi, etc. So basically something where you can go with the whole family. The sweets, tea and coffee as well as juices, fruit and salad were delicious. Unfortunately, all the warm dishes we chose were inadequate. The pasta was the opposite of al dente and was therefore spurned by the child, very slimy. Child two complained about the grilled snail and after I tried it I agreed: inedible. The burger and pizza didn't fare any better. The citizen mainly tastes of the intense pickle, the res...

"Me and my husband chose this restaurant to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. We came all the way from USA and I can tell you this place didn't disappoint us. Very nice location, close to the lake and easy to find. We started our 5 course chef's tasting menu from appetizers by chef. It was mix of cheeses in different variations deep fried, cream cheese, cheese truffle and refreshing gazpacho soup. 1.Our first tasting dish were amberjack ceviche with fresh mint, peach and lemon sauce. It was absolutely delightful. 2.Then we had poached egg in creamy pea puree and shaved with Belèer Knolle cheese. It was also one of my favorite dishes because it was so creamy and egg was a great addition to this dish. Also there were Bona crumbles sweet to balance the pea puree. 3. Next Paccheridi Gragnano halves with oriental veal ragout. unfortunately this pasta wasn't my favorite. It was too al dente and I am not used to such a thick uncooked pasta. We ask waiter and he confirmed that's the way it should be. Also too much peanuts overwhelmed the sauce and it felt you are eating sneakers. But I absolutely loved veal ragout sauce, it was rich with flavors and very nicely done. 4.Then our next dish was Red Mediterranean tuna with charcoal, teriyaki mayonnaise, cucumber and puffed rice with seaweed. It was the best cooked tuna that I ever tried. It was so tender and melting on my tongue. 5. Next was perfectly cooked Duck with cherries. I absolutely loved duck, it was cooked to perfection!!! 6. Pre dessert strawberry basil puree to refresh tasting buds and prepare for the dessert. 7. Vanilla cheesecake with apricot and carrot sorbet with prune compote. 8. And complementary truffle selection from Chef to congratulate us with our anniversary. Absolutely best anniversary meal. I also loved that service here was very open and nice. It was my first Michelin star experience and I didn't felt any snobbism, like in other restaurants in Milan for example. Nice presentation, and all dishes were properly described in English for us which is additional plus since my husband doesn't speak Italian. Absolutely worth the trip!"
