"Went a six-some after trying to book, but only got message bank. Anyhow, we rocked up, and after some friendly discussion, we scored a table in the 'dungeon'. On our way through, we discovered why it's called 'restaurant de feu' a damn great open fire grilling some serious pieces of meat, and the aromas! We knew we were in for a memorable night. The table chose between beef and lamb, although one had kidneys. The meats were served delightfully hot, with a selection of seasonal vegetables. The wine list was good, and typically for a French restaurant, the service was professional and impeccable. The only tip I have for English speaking people visiting Paris, try, try and try again to speak a few words of French, it will improve your experience out of sight. Would I viist here again? In a Heartbeat!"

A simple concept but based on exceptional meat quality. The setting and atmosphere are bluffing for a Parisian restaurant. To recommend closed eyes

I called the restaurant in the afternoon for a booking. The food was amazing and we ended sitting beside Aerosmith. The service was just amazing. Very friendly. Highly recommend it!!

It's been several years since I didn't go to eat in this restaurant that I recommended a lot to the many people. Yesterday, it was my second visit with my friend and we had a very nice dinner with a waiter who worked at the bar in the basement. He was really nice, welcoming by never forgetting the mouse throughout the dinner. When choosing Malbec wine, his explanations were also very explicit, finally helping us to take a good wine. I have a little regret not to thank her much more with a reward as a tip. I thank you again at least there. Ver carta

My husband and I chose Robert et Louise for our last outing in Paris. It was filled with what appeared to be tourists. We got a table after calling for a reservation and waiting until they opened the doors at around 7pm. We were quickly seated. My husband ordered the entrecôte (ribeye) special. I had one of the specials of the day. I believe my dish was some type of flank or skirt steak with onions and wine sauce. My meal was very tasty and serve with roasted potatoes and a small green salad. I would recommend the restaurant as the ambiance is wonderful watching the food being cooked over the open flame.

We were passing by this little restaurant and noticed it was busy. It looked very inviting so we decided to have lunch there. What a good decision. This pace has it all and is so PARIS that it was everything we wanted. Great old french ambiance. Cosy and old world style. The chef was a lady, I thing Louise as she was not only cooking on an open BBQ fire but had an eye on everything going on and was directing staff and talking to customers as well. The do a specialty BBQ dish for 2 of a 900 gram boneless beef that looks stunningly mouthwatering. I had chicken with potatoes and Salad that was sensational. Go there it is a memory that will forever take you back to Paris.

I literally fell into Chez Robert et Louise for lunch after wandering around the Marais for hours. I know France loves their boeuf (and so do I), so we picked Robert et Louise for lunch. My first impression: wood-fired oven and packed tables. We were seated down stairs in the dungeon, which felt very cozy (and old!). My sister and split the Rib Eye, which came with seasoned potatoes and a salad on a wood cutting board. The steak was fantastic--one of the best I had in Paris. It was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. I would definitely return here for another meal. They spoke English and were able to answer our questions about the food, which was a plus as an American. Ver carta

Four of us went having had a few days and Paris. Booked ahead via phone. Noted that a few had difficulties in booking. Would point out that this is a restaurant in France, even with my basic French over the phone there were absolutely no issues. Service very efficient. Had wine at the mid/low price end of list, both the Touraine and the cahors were excellent for what we paid. Now, the steak! Well priced; staff aware of where the meat was sourced from; and most importantly brilliantly cooked on an open fire. Cheese board for after was more than I was expecting and had a good selection. Book ahead and don't put yourself through the shame of being turned away like so many we saw.

I wandered in here with a friend from SE Asia. We sat at the bar, which was lovely. Old style Paris atmosphere, with a roaring fire at the back , and cosy lighting. We shared a 'crudites' starter - fresh, generous, with a good dressing. We then shared a 'Cote de Boeuf'' served rare. It was fairly cold, and fairly tough. No vegetables available ( at 20h ? ) so it was back to another salad and some charmless oily potatoes. With no coffee, no dessert, a single starter, and 4 glasses of red wine our bill came to a whopping 95 euros. The friendly service tried hard to compensate for one arrogant team member who hasn't woken up to the wonderful new France. Would I go back ? Probably yes...it's not...
