The Samuel Fox is a charming restaurant with more of a focus on dining than a traditional country inn atmosphere.

Our experience at the Inn was delightful. The food was amazing and the staff was exceptional. We are seriously considering returning for another stay in the future.

Food was good but the problem with this place is its like eating in a waiting room, no atmosphere, decor tables etc very bland. Service was just about OK waiting times were to long for us. The prices are very high and I would have felt more comfortable paying the bill if everything was as good as the food.

We stayed two nights in a very comfortable bedroom and ate on one night. Having tried out the local competition we wish we had booked to dine for the second night aswell. The plain exterior of this pub completely belies the quality of the food, presentation and taste. The breakfast was equally outstanding. The whole property is meticulously maintained and spotless throughout. A very well managed restaurant/small hotel with very pleasant staff. They were keen to be Covid safe aswell. Ver carta

I made a mandatory deposit of £5 per person at a restaurant on 10 November 2021. Unfortunately, the restaurant closed down in December and I have not been able to reach them since. Despite the website stating that they are closed for the winter as of 5 May 2022, I find it strange to do so in May. Attempts to contact them by phone have been unsuccessful. I no longer have any desire to visit this establishment after this experience and feel it is important to warn others. Is this restaurant even still operating?

Amazing experience! The food was exceptional, featuring unique ideas like pickled blackberries. The atmosphere was very laid-back; I was in a jacket and tie, while others wore polo shirts and shorts, and everyone felt comfortable. The value was excellent, especially with the tasting menus. We enjoyed a five-course meal and left satisfied but not overly full, with each course offering something distinct that kept our interest. The wine list was impressively curated without being overwhelming, and the prices seemed fair. I highly recommend this place!

Booked this Pub/ Restaurant for a special occasion and after reading various reviews was looking forward to it immensely we booked the little caravan site around the corner from the pub for two nights and travelled 2hrs to there.What a dissapointment the Restaurant turned out to be!! The greeting was negative to start with, the atmosphere was none existent it felt like somebody's front room, the staff were at best capable of bringing food to the table!!All in all it was a bad experience never to return again somebody need to get a grip and make it a far more pleasant experience.
