"General: The former Tegernsee monastery dominates the town of Tegernsee in several ways. The large building houses the Gymnasium Tegernsee, the Herzoglich Bayerische Brauhaus Tegernsee, the parish church of St. Quirin and the chambers of the Max Emanuel Ludwig Maria Herzog in Bavaria (therefore also Tegernsee Castle and two gastronomic establishments). Once the Bräustüberl to be discussed and the Schlossbrennerei. Eating, drinking, praying, humanistic education and the livable splendour of the former royal house – there is no more! In the castle distillery there is not the impressive buzz like in the Bräustüberl and by the exquisite distillates of your own distillery you stand out from the (only infuture defiles in the Bräustüberl, but without lifting off. So the guests of the castle distillery who were observed on Thursday night could sit well in the Bräustüberl. But with strollers or for a conversation among friends or colleagues, the calmer atmosphere of the castle's distillery is better suited. The price-performance ratio is also very hospitable in the Schlossbrennerei and continues the previous four-star ratings! The homepage [here link] shows beautiful photos of the castle distillery. The menus are offered as very primitive scans, but the drinks are not, despite the name-giving distillates. Service: In the castle distillery there are younger men who serve the tables. Her cloakroom is a kind of robber civil in the Landserjargon. One or two costume elements has the dressing area, but at the latest it stops at the sneakers or the other shoe factory. They do their job solid without a start of humor with minimal friendliness. The dishes a chef from the several meters away kitchen spread to the terrace. The neatly visited terrace had the three waiters well under control and the waiting times were short (drinks or compassions. The thirst can also be erased in the castle incineration. The classic light as a half of the brewery next door comes to €2.95, natural redness as a Zwickl beer will be a hit to €3.30. Mineral water 0.75 l costs 5.50. The three open wines have a unit price of 4,90 € for the quarter. Food: We have visited the castle distillery with pleasure in Bavarian delicacies. So we started with Obazda (7,40 € and the cattle broth with pancake strips, roast onions and liver spetlets (5,20 €). The Obazda was classically prepared with camembert content. I liked the cheese sharpness associated with it, my constant companion very well. In addition, there were very nice cumin bare rumin bread with an even slightly crispy crust. Together for 7,40 € certainly not a bargain, but qualitatively and tastefully commendable. My soup cup deserved no praise. Only warm and full of inlay. Tastefully dominant unfortunately the roasted onions, hard at the border to the baked-bitters. The liver spatulas formed the lowest layer and were little unambiguous or my taste nerves were already blocked by the roasted onions. Not quite Bavarian then the wooden case steak with Wedges, Sour Cream and Krautsalat (13.40 €). The wedges were crispy and the neck steak even slightly rusty and very pleasing with the herbal butter. I got two things from the appearance with Semmelknödel and Potato-Gurkensalat. The potato rind salad prepared by the South German-Sabonic method and slightly acidic and refreshing. The Semmelknödel fell for the usual, thin but spicy roast sauce. The pork was made up of a disc roll roaster with a screedy crust and a disc boxer with a crumble cr. The rollerbow was the clear winner. Kassler in the summer isn't mine, as I had to say, maybe cold and sour. Also my portion very neat. From the four stars I like to give when it was gracious, I remove the soup as a failure and here in the text there are 3.75 stars in finer grade. Ambiance: In view of the summer weather, all guests sat on the well-defined terrace with a hedge, furnished with very solid beer garden set (one half classic with chairs, the other with benches with backrests. In the interior there is a classic cross vault, white painted. The furniture and the wall panel are held in bright wood colours. Everything makes a high-quality impression. In one of the rooms, the distillery is the eye-catcher. The toilets are also very well suited to the overall impression. Cleanliness: Very well maintained."

This is another one, next to Hotel Ueberfahrt and Faehrhuette. Enjoyed a Weisswurst (white saussage) on the terrace before lunch. Was quite nice in the garden. The lake view is the key. Food ok Ver carta

Perfect place for light lunch if a table space is available. I recommend the garden salad with smoked char & horseradish sauce if you want something light...it's a small serve & quite expensive.

This is truly a great place except for that one drawback. Located next to the Ducal Brewery on the shore of the beautiful Tegernsee lake, the Brennerei (literally Distillery also makes fruit schnaps of various types and sells them on the premises. You can see...the modern still in one of the restaurant rooms. If the weather is good, sit outside on the terrasse and enjoy the scenery. Inside, the decor is timbered, with the southern Bavarian touch. The menu features many German/Bavarian specialties, and the food was uniformly great.
