"Did not want to post this review but I provided an online review, as requested by restaurant , but had no response. Went for Sunday lunch with another couple. Stood around for ages before being welcomed and shown to our table. Not terribly busy but there was a large birthday party at an adjacent table. Ordered meals, only main courses, which did take some time to arrive but had no problem with that. When they arrived the two roasts were swimming in “ bisto” gravy more in keeping with a “ Greasy Spoon” café. There were no green vegetables and when requested were told there weren’t any. The salmon was over cooked and the Cumberland sausage and mash, although nicely presented came with braised red cabbage and onion gravy which completely overpowered the meal. No one came to ask us if our meals were OK even when clearing plates which had sizeable amounts left. We asked for sweet menus but they never arrived. Our table was booked from 1.45 with a request to vacate by 3.45 which was fine. However before 2.00 pm staff were starting to clear up and were resetting the restaurant for evening session and as it was obvious we were not going to get sweet menus and felt we were in the way so we had no alternative but to leave. Having travelled some way to visit this establishment to say we were disappointed is an understatement,"

Great for an overnight stay including the circular walk from the pub door. Good food, service and rooms. Would recommend.

Dog friendly country pub with good home cooked food, the presentation could have been better. The service was slow however, excellent choice of ice creams and sorbets. I would recommend visiting.

Stayed in room 3 with my daughter 2 dogs. Room is beautiful and huge, 2 windows both with window seats overlooking river front of house. Stunning views in all directions. Staff very helpful friendly. Treats in room for dogs. Eccles cakes for humans. Hidden gem. Lovely walks. Will definitely return. Thank you for making our stay so lovely.

We have visited this restaurant multiple times in our campervan and were allowed to park in their car park across the road. We have enjoyed evening meals with our dog in the restaurant and found the staff to be friendly and the food to be good. Unfortunately, when we recently called to visit again, we were told that we are no longer welcome in our campervan.

Overall, the restaurant was very good. The breakfast was a bit disappointing because there was no potato option or baked beans. When we removed the mushroom and black pudding, there wasn't much left of the full English breakfast. The room was comfortable, as well as the bed. The floors were very creaky, making it difficult to move around without waking everyone up. However, this is to be expected in an older building.

My Husband and I stayed here with friends from his camera club for a long weekend. The room was spacious with a view of the river Ribble. Tea and coffee facilities were provided including fresh milk in a thermos flask. The meals were superb as was the wine list. No wonder I gained 3 lbs as a result. It was a good centre for all places of interest in the area. The hotel welcomed dogs and even had a special doggy menu. I must warn anyone with mobility issues as there are several stairs to the bedrooms with no lift and the shower was over the bath.

A very overdue review! We had our wedding reception here in August 2022 and it was absolutely brilliant. The staff were so helpful right from first enquiring, to booking the date, organising a menu tasting, arranging all the details and on the day. Thank you so much to Leah and the team! We had the absolute best day the setting is just beautiful, the food was really delicious (guests still comment a year on how good it was) and the Abbey Room was just what we wanted. We wish we could do it all over again! We returned for dinner and a night’s stay on our first anniversary and it was just as lovely. Thank you again for making our special day all that we wanted.

After reading reviews, we decided to try out this pub and we were extremely impressed. The staff were very friendly and efficient, and the decor was fabulous. The food was even better! Our table had a gorgeous view of the river, and we got to enjoy a spectacular sunset while sipping on wine at one of their outdoor tables. They also offer beautifully decorated bedrooms, although we didn't stay in one since we were in our motorhome. They welcome motorhomes as long as you purchase a drink or food. The pub has a large car park and is just a 10-minute drive from Clitheroe. We woke up to the sound of birds and a lovely view from our window. There is a fantastic home and garden centre nearby, Shack...

"I wasn't at blueberries with my friends since before covid so it was great to kick through the door and see how busy it is, fortunately I had a table for lunch. there is nothing special vegan on the menu, but they try to place their very hardest, in contrast to some places. I love a jacket kartoffel and choose her beats with various items from the menu, so ordered frying and avocado. katherine, one of the owners and cook came on our table and said she could suggest some other dishes and also vegan cheese if I did not the jacket kartoffel, but if I still did how about the topping of sonbs. what a nice geste and I will visit her on her offer of other options at the next. I noticed that they were able to offer vegan options for their Christmas card and also had two vegan, frozen meals to take away, moussaka and chili. my friends ordered a chicken and specksalat and a fish and chips and both said that eating was delicious with a mention that the chips were the best. my kartoffel was huge, with a lot of topping, served with beautiful salat and quickly grinded. the food is made fresh to order and blueberries is very popular as full it was on a cold Wednesday afternoon. there is also a small marquee on the side of the blueberries, which for those who are brave and sitting the weather and of course adds extra space. I really can't knock blueberries, they may not have vegan options (although a cake would be nice and I need to ask if they have plant milk as I always have my own. but they will always try to eat rusty something satisfying and with announcing can something like a vegan hotpot that I had before, what was brilliant."
