"in a party of 12 years for a working meal. I've heard a lot about how good this is, so it was eager to try for myself. first, eating was great, I had a filet on the hot rock with pfefferminz sauce. fantastic piece meat and that was a good size and tasted great. the other meals on the table ranged from pizza, fish and chips to the dirty burger. all looked great and we were cut off. the byhalates I think were £2,50 were extremely small and probably not worth the price, but I did not order this time. the service was somewhat slow and not along with a pretty gap between some folk dishes arrived, but we did not find it too much of a problem and we were a big party fair to be. a few of the use created a pudding, great worth and great taste! the staff was very friendly and was looking forward to all questions. the environment and the environment were clean, tidy and relaxed with some nice sitting places in the open for a fast drink in the sun. overall this is a great place to visit, brilliant eating, beautiful staff and definitiw it worth. will be in any case soon."

First time visit to the carvery yesterday and we will definitely be back. Food was great, staff were amazing and they did everything possible to get us a table when we were a pain in the backside

my wife and I had a nice meal here. eating was the best restaurant quality, the staff was very friendly. what I like about the babbling brook is that it is still a nice little pub, they can still dive for a pint after a walk. I can recommend it.

First visit was for a birthday celebration. Easy to find, good car park, warm welcome, cosy but spacious with conservatory for dining only. Food selection varied and exciting with a hot rock cook it yourself option for beef steaks and fish looks fun! Cocktails too and desserts to die for. Reasonbly priced. Will definitely be back.

A delightful 16th century pub with an interesting history and a local feel (the friendly and efficient staff tell the ghost stories better than I could) beautiful interior and garden, nice selection of ales and the food was exceptionally tasty. I had the hake special and pork scrumpet and shared the sticky toffee pudding. All excellent and generous portions. When I next find myself in Somerset I know where I'll be having dinner!

Last night at the babbling brook. what a fabulously friendly place. the staff was great and that was all we hoped after a day of walking. the ribeye steak was so delicious. menu choice was just right, although one more thing took to decide what to choose as they all sounded delicious. the next time we are in the opposite would dinate here. highly recommended, without hesitation. thank you to all employees! they all do a great job- thanks

"Yet again we needed to celebrate having resolved a long standing technical problem. The pub in Brompton Regis came up in discussion the evening before when our neighbour was around for a glass of wine. He said that before coming to our village he’d looked at houses in Brompton Regis. He left and we booked a table. Friday was a damp day but we were not deterred as we drove up into the Brendon Hills, usually distant views greet one but this day the clouds were dominant. However as we descended from Roborough Gate towards Wimbleball Lake we could turn off the wipers. By the time we crossed the bridge at the top of the lake a shaft of sun broke through and sparkled across the surface of the water whilst light wisps of mist kissed the shore line. Rounding the churchyard wall always raises our expectations for there is the George Inn. The bar door was hardly open before Tash, a beaming smile, greeted us with a price board for ‘COFFEE’. I said in my previous review that I wouldn’t mention coffee at the George again, sorry, but I must. The coffee machine had arrived the day before. Well done Tripadvisor the George! We had a wonderful starter of Baba Ganoush, new to the menu that day. It was exceptionally good with delicate flavour. Following on was chicken breast and pasta with tomato sauce, again great flavour though my wife found it a little too greasy. My Bengal curry was fantastic and a most generous serving. Our ‘Desert,’sic, was Chocolate Ganache with pistachio ice cream under crunched nuts. I had the steamed maple syrup pudding set in a delicious whisky sauce, a very delicate and light texture, just right to finish on after the curry! Of course we had our long awaited espressos from the new device, a delicious finale to our meal. Earlier in walkers had dropped in wanting a coffee. Now all on Exmoor should be heading to the George for their ‘hit’."
