Food average. Overpriced. Salad garnish was past its best. Only 5 pieces of scampi for £15 Dirty toilets. Staff uninterested and all on their phones. Wouldn't recommend

The food my partner had was disappointing, fish pie at £15.50 served in the smallest dish imaginable, no fish even detected in the pie, just mussels. Service though was excellent.

Popped in for Thursday pizza night. Pizza’s were spot on, really tasty. It’s a while since I have visited and there seems to have been a serious makeover. I’ll come again when next in the neighbourhood, would love to try Friday steak night. Ver carta

Food is fantastic! Big portions so we opted for a few starters. All of them were absolutely delicious. Decided on Korean chicken wings, Arancini balls and Thai fishcake. Great selection of well kept beers and lager. Also serve some great wine. We love it here!!

We went for Mother’s Day meal we thoroughly enjoyed it. There were 5 adults and 1 child in our party and everyone said how good the food was. We will definitely be back to try the main menu. The staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much issue. I would also like to send my compliments to the chef, the food was fantastic. Ver carta

After abandoning my car due to impassible roads outside Burwash due to heavy snowfall and prospect of of a cold night outside Pauline and Justin offered a room to me and my son as they did for 40 people on the night of 11/12. Quality people, who wanted to help at my time of need. Thank you both and all the staff at The Bear Inn for for everything you did!

POOR STANDARDS, QUALITY OF FOODS SERVICE. ....on all key areas of the restaurant. Dirty, unkempt and disgusting WCs, especially the disabled and men's areas. Poor, unattentive, lack if attention to details relating to our request...example: no onion please...one of us is allergic. Yet...the waitress brought a substandard salad dish with onions included! Poor exercise of customer relations skills. No hello, thank you, was everything OK? We asked for 2 substandard meals to be taken away. Those and 2 drinks were taken off the final bill.

The room was very cold when we arrived. We were already really cold and it took a long time to get the room warm. There was a kettle and 2 green teabags and some decaffeinated coffee and 2 tiny portions of milk. No normal tea or coffee. There was no shampoo/ shower wash in the bathroom. There is no hairdryer. On the plus side, the room is a nice size and it is clean. The view is very good. This morning we went to speak to the person running the place but could only find a cleaner who said she didn’t speak English. Would not stay here again Ver carta
