I'm not sure why we hadn't visited before, but this pub is fantastic! The food is excellent, and they have a wonderful selection of beers.

It's got very expensive for the food. Even though the food is nice, they have put prices up and half the portion sizes, which is why I have to down rate the place. Its a nice clean tidy pub otherwise.

Lovely food and generous portions, reasonably priced. Service was fairly prompt. Visited on a Tuesday evening so understandably quiet. Was able to bring the dog in which was why we chose it. Will be back when next in the area.

The roast dinner on a Sunday today was **** lovely. 11 of us, veggies and meat eaters, all come out hot and tasty. Loads of veg and gravy. Yorkshire puddings with tasty onion shreds. Top notch. Great staff to, so helpful and happy.

The coleslaw was lacking in acidity. Otherwise a serviceable meal in a delightful, yet southern atmosphere. There was cheese on my gammon which seemed odd. Staff were friendly and the outside area was spacious and perfect for an evening soirée.

Food here was absolutely delicious. The girls on front where lovely. Chef, credit too you the food was delicious and the presentation was 10/10 also along with the flavours to back up the plate. Sunday roast 2 for £17 absolute bargain for the quality food your get all in with drinks well under £30

We raised our concerns with the bar staff, but our complaints were dismissed. Shortly after, we observed one of the vapers chatting and joking with the staff at the bar, which clarified why our initial complaints were brushed aside—they clearly didn’t see an issue with it. As a family-friendly pub known for good food, we expected much better. There’s nothing worse than trying to enjoy a meal while being bombarded by the smell of cigarettes or vaping. We’ve hosted various staff events and family gatherings here over the years, but after this experience, we’ll be searching for alternatives. Over the course of three nights (yes, we went back twice more because it was that good!), we tried various dishes. The pies were exceptional—some of the best I’ve had in years. They were generously filled, and the pastry was simply remarkable. The sides of perfect mash and peas were deliciously enhanced by crispy onion bits. The burgers sampled by others were praised for being moist and flavorful. I also enjoyed an excellent bass dish, and the curry I ordered on our second night was one of the best I’ve had in a long time.
