The Britannia Richmond

This is an excellent restaurant with great informal professional service. I had not been here before but I had heard of its reputation and it exceeded my expectations. The best place in Richmond and not feel ripped off. Will be back.

We have lunched at the Britannia several times and each time the food, wine and the service were exceptional. The menu features fresh seafood and seasonal produce and the wines by the glass are really excellent value which is why we would recommend making the effort to find this lovely old pub in Richmond.

Had lovely lunch with a friend. We chose the set menu and both had the cheese soufflé, chicken, and fig crème brûlée. Lovely friendly service. Out food arrived promptly and was nice and hot. Everything was delicious faultless. Good value £30.95 for 3 courses. If I was local I would be a regular. I will definitely be back. Ver carta

This gastropub in the heart of Richmond is delightful. The menu clearly marks nuts as the only allergen. There is a wide variety of seafood dishes to choose from, as well as a delicious Sunday roast menu. While gluten free options are not specifically labeled, there are some dishes available for those with dietary restrictions.

It was my wife’s birthday and she wanted to go to the new Scott’s in Richmond but the reviews were mixed so I booked The Britannia instead. What a great decision! The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Especially the cheese soufflé starter and the chateaubriand for two. Great atmosphere and very attentive staff. We will be back.

The Britannia is a great place for a meal. We were a large group and the waitress was attentive, polite, informative. The food was delicious and the garden and terrace area were absolutely beautiful since we had great weather that day. The restaurant in on a lovely street amidst quirky and fun stores. Richmond is beautiful. Also great coz Ted Lasso was shot here. Would love to go back. The chef was kind enough to organise some vegetarian food which was not on the menu so that was wonderful. We’ve passed by The Britannia many times between Richmond High Street and The Green but never before stopped by for lunch. On a late summer’s Sunday at lunchtime both the main bar with some ornate Victorian fireplaces, champagne bottles on the wall, and wooden floors and the garden were available. Although a la carte was available it seemed churlish not to opt for a set lunch with the likes of sirloin of beef, roast chicken or even halibut with all the trimmings preceded by such pleasures as cheddar soufflé or game terrine.

This is a lovely historic pub/restaurant tucked away in a little side alley. The bar area was quite busy for a Sunday evening and we were shown to a table in the dining room on first floor which has an outside terrace. We chose from set menu which was excellent. Service was friendly and professional. We could only manage two courses but enjoyed a coffee on the terrace to finish. I would have given 5 stars but the ladies toilets were a disgrace. Broken toilet seat, overflowing bins and not very clean. It's a real shame because everything else was perfect.

We came here for a family lunch on Sunday 1st September and had a really great experience we were seated on the roof terrace, which was lovely given the great weather, and the food and drinks were all of a really high standard, and were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. However, the other stand out here was the service, so a big shout out to Emily Farrow, as she was simply brilliant nothing was too much trouble, she was so friendly, remaining professional and polite, and it is only when you receive such good service that you realise what a difference it makes to the overall experience, so great job!
