"It's been a while this was supposed to be my birthday meal I looked at all the restaurants around Telford and choose yours So we arrived shown our table looked at the menu we ordered drinks then we ordered so I wanted the blackpudding scotch egg but was told we haven't got any because we was closed Monday and Tuesday so we haven't made this was Wednesday the first day of opening so you should have everything ready just thought that was a pathetic excuse so then I ordered the hanging kebabs with home made chips salad pitta bread and 2 dips my with ordered fish goujons the boys had ribs and a burger So the goujons came out they was chicken we said we ordered fish but the waitress had written down chicken ???? So we sent them back and wait for the fish goujons My kebabs came out well this is £19 meal kebabs where cold small handful of frozen cooked chip no way where they home cut chip so it put me off the whole meal just very poor after half an hour the fish goujons came out very greasy not good again when I set the kebabs back I was told I don't know how there cold but when paying for the bill I didn't pay for the kebabs I don't mind paying for a dish but it has to be hot and worth the price and definitely if your advertising home cut chips then they need to be I should know with 40yrs experience in catering"

The food is excellent and is not overpriced. The cooked breakfast was the best I have ever eaten. Very friendly owner and staff. The decor is charming. I recommend everyone to eat here.

I recently had a fantastic meal at the restaurant and decided to try their Friday takeaway. The fish was perfectly cooked, the chips were amazing, and the mushy peas were the best I've ever had. A great addition to the menu!

Enjoyed Sunday Lunch Banquet tasty food well presented. For two of us the beef was too 'well done ', would like to have been given a choice of how the beef was served. Excellent choice of wine at extremely attractive prices!! Ver carta

The food at this restaurant is beautiful and made fresh with good quality ingredients. The bacon was thick and perfectly cooked, truly proper bacon. The staff are very friendly and more than happy to help. The cafe area is lovely and the overall ambiance of the place is amazing.

Stopping in Broseley for the weekend so decided to check out the Butchers kitchen......so glad we did!! Excellent food, friendly staff and cold beer!! We had a sharing platter that included beef rib, chicken wings and pork belly all cooked to perfection. If you're local I would definitely recommend this place.

We recently dined at Butchers Kitchen for the third time and continue to be impressed by the consistent quality of their hearty food. The meals are delicious, especially the meat dishes, leaving us full and satisfied after each visit. The service is top-notch and we appreciated the variety of beer options available, both on tap and non-alcoholic. We are already looking forward to returning next month with friends. Highly recommended! Ver carta

We visited Butcher's Kitchen for Lunch on Sunday, where we received a friendly welcome and shown to a Table. We selected the Banquet Main Course accompanied by a Drink from the Bar. To finish our Meal we chose a Dessert from the Dessert Menu. The Food was well prepared and it was very tasty, served efficiently by friendly staff. The Quantity of Food was something to be seen! We most certainly would recommend Butcher's Kitchen to family members and/or friends. We are sure to visit Butcher's Kitchen again in future.

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."

"Open since 1970 and located on Mardol, one of Shrewsbury’s oldest streets @thecurryhouseshrewsbury serves locally sourced ingredients married with traditional spices and chillies from the Indian subcontinent, a match made in heaven. 5 5 Recommended Price No better way to kick off proceedings but with popadoms, chutneys and fresh onion salad. On to appetisers and there are so many tempting dishes to choose with many of these exclusive to the curry house. Our first time trying Pani Puri. A sweet and spicy hot street food snack filled with chickpeas and tamarind sat on a bed of crunchy, nutty Bombay mix. With a building but pleasant heat, definitely something everyone should try. The quality and freshness of the seafood was exceptional. Spicy king prawns were huge and cooked to perfection. Charred on the outside for flavour but juicy and meaty. Trio of King scallops were beautifully tender and of a good size with sweetness from the tamarind liquor. Lamb rogan Josh tender lamb shoulder in a medium hot ginger tomato and onion sauce. A strong take on a traditional favourite of ours. Fresh from the Tandoor a generous mix of marinaded chicken, lamb, king prawns and a chargrilled lamb chop. The Tandoori deluxe massalla sauce was the perfect blend of sweetness melting into a subtle heat which brought the dish together perfectly. The curry house takes traditional dishes and flavours from the Indian subcontinent and elevates them to a level beyond expectations. Thank you for our invite to share the exciting menu created with passion and creativity. If you are looking for a curry house with a difference this is the place for you. #theshropshirefoodies #foodblog #foodstagram #shrewsbury #shropshire #restaurantreview #foodjournal #foodblogger #instafood"

"Fantastic range of small dishes and meals for lunch and dinner. The menu ranges from scandi to oriental, so something for everyone. The menu is clearly marked with allergens, including what meals can be adapted. The chicken is halal and vegan and vegetarian options are plentiful. The cocktail and mocktail menu is great and they do one of the best espresso martinis in Shrewsbury. The decor is modern and comfortable and there is plenty of space. As a wheelchair user, I can get into the ground floor and to a table. The outside seats are up a small step, but the whole front of the building is a retractable wall of windows, so I can still get the feeling of eating outside in good weather. The service is friendly and knowledgeable about allergies, the menu and the wine list. The staff are helpful and unobtrusive. The only difficulty for me (hence the 4 star review) is that the accessible bathroom is next door, in their sister bar, Libertine. Unfortunately, libertine isn't open the same hours as HotRS, so I can only use it at certain times. The ladies does have a lock on the door, so staff have cleared the ladies toilets, which allowed me to take my chair in and lock the door. I had to walk a couple of steps to get into a stall but my chair was safely with me. Of course, there is also no alarm cord, but they stood outside the door so would have heard if I shouted for help."
