Fantastic Christmas meal, decided to opt for duck as a change was not disappointed, really enjoyable. Impressed they managed to cater for 24 of us. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Went here for an excellent Christmas dinner. Plenty of lovely beers and ciders to choose from on tap. The food was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone there. Would thoroughly recommend

Fabulous roast dinner. Very tasty, delicious meat, fresh vegetables and the best gravy...and the Yorkshire pudding! The service was fabulous and the atmosphere was very welcoming. We took our 3 children and they loved it too. Ver carta

Absolutely fantastic!! I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, cuisine, and the attentive service. We requested a cheese board and even though it wasn't on the menu, they made it happen! Exceeded our expectations in every way. Will definitely return.

The food at this village pub is incredible. It has a lot of parking available, making it convenient for visitors. If you happen to be passing through due to a road diversion, definitely stop in for a meal - the food is fantastic and the staff are excellent. The rack of ribs is especially impressive.

We were able to get a table at the pub last minute. The staff was very friendly and escorted us to a nice table. The selection of roasts was fantastic and the 27-hour roasted beef was delicious. Was visiting Devon with friends for the weekend. We looked for a local Sunday roast. This is one of the tastiest and best value roasts I have had whilst eating out. The food was lovely and a great portion. The staff were really friendly and there was a lovely friendly atmosphere from the locals. I would suggest booking as we hadn't but they were very kind to squeeze us in! The staff and who I assumed was a local/landlord said goodbye and thank you to us as we left which I always think is a nice touch. Would definitely recommend and head back there again!

I struggle to understand how this place is the 4th best rated restaurant in the Barnstaple area, as based on my visit it is mediocre at best. My feelings are coloured partly by the service which was outwardly friendly but overall fairly average and also by some oddly long wait times. As to the food, it was certainly acceptable , but the pricing is at a level that could best be described as grasping relative to what is offered. Perhaps the Castle Inn will argue their burgers are made in house, but their overly minced texture is far more representative of mass produced or frozen patties. If you find yourself anywhere remotely near Barnstaple and are looking for a place where you will be welcomed with open arms and fed amazing home cooked food at a great price then step into the cosy interior of The Castle Inn at Landkey where Creighton, Carly, Darren and the team will ensure that you leave with a full tummy and a smile on your face!
