Very welcoming on a wet and windy day. We came in for shelter with a toddler and staff brought paper and crayons to entertain the little one. Food was great, really enjoyed our visit Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

I stopped by for a late lunch at this charming pub, and we both had pizza, which was fantastic. There are some great nearby attractions, including the Saxon castle next door, a beautiful church, and Lydford Gorge just down the road—definitely worth a visit! The food and drinks were excellent in this lovely old pub. Service: 5 stars. Location: 5 stars.

A little diamond, rooms are very clean and comfortable, food amazing, staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely be booking again. Rooms: The bed and pillows are amazing, so comfy . Toweling dressing gown each, lovely touch and the bramley soap products are a luxury. Food drinks: Breakfast is fantastic, plenty of choice of cooked and continental. Rooms: 5

The staff were extremely friendly, and the food was outstanding—truly a wonderful place to dine and enjoy some drinks. In terms of walkability, Dartmoor is nearby, and Lydford Gorge is also within close proximity. I had the Sunday roast, which was fantastic, but everything I tried at The Castle was exceptional. I give the service a 5 and the location a 5 as well.

I will definitely return! There is plenty of free parking, and the beautiful old building features cozy, clean rooms with modern bathrooms. The high-quality tea and coffee in the rooms are a nice touch. The bar and the coal fire add to the ambiance, and the staff is friendly, along with a very sociable cat. The location is fantastic; I absolutely loved my stay. Overall, I would rate the rooms, service, and location all as 5 stars. Hotel highlights: Luxury, Romantic.
