"In May 2024 I was in Edinburgh with my brother. It was a great time and we experienced and saw a lot. The Fiddlers Arms is one of the highlights of our visit here in the Scottish capital. One day we ate great fish chips here and drank something cool with it. The great service from the staff and the great taste of the food made us decide to eat here again the next evening. We opted for traditional Scottish food t, pie and haggis. And the dessert… WOW! It was brilliant, friendly people, friendly stff! We can only recommend Fiddlers Arms. A great pub in the midlle of the old town! Thanks and greetings from germany."

Nice little pub next to the Grassmarket! We tried sticky toffee and it was very nice there. I could recommend their Balvenie whisky.

To get seated you need to negotiate what you will order. It was even not accepted to say that we will eat and drink something, we were asked to promise that everybody will eat full. Never seen such an impolite attitude.

Magnificent place with delicious food, great whisky and nice people. It was so good that we came there three times during our three day stay. The fish&chips and pie were best we found during our trip to Scotland. The rating is driven down by the people who could not get a table. Can understand your frustration folks. The place is busy in the evenings and it's not possible to book a table. One of the days we were out of luck and had to go somewhere else. The place is absolutely worth waiting or coming back in my opinion.
