"Can't believe my wife hasn't already put a review on. We've been there dozens of times just for coffee , lunch and dinner for birthdays, anniversaries or just a night out. Always an incredibly warm welcome, nothing pretentious just amazing food, freshly cooked and the bonus of a chance to practice my not very good Italian. Mario is truly one of life's good guys and deserves all the success his hard work brings him. Bravo bello !"

"This place absolutely blows the competition out of the water. I didn’t believe the reviews before my first visit, but now I do. It’s not just somewhere to eat, it’s theatre and magic too. The welcome, the layout, the tableware, the glassware, the food, the drink, the environmental ethos, the location and the service are all 5 star. My husband is an omnivore and I am vegan and it’s hard to find somewhere we both really enjoy, but Gem 42 is one. I also don’t drink alcohol and was delighted to see that they have not 1 but 4 homemade kombuchas on offer! I love that you are asked to order in advance to reduce waste, and that their food is seasonal and a lot of it grown by them. I can’t think of anything negative to say about this place, except that I wish it was in Cardiff!"

"My husband told me he had booked that morning for us to have Sunday Lunch at The Green for 1pm When we arrived it was very busy and everyone had booked for a Christmas lunch, all the tables were laid with festive decor crackers we were offered a glass of preseco or orange juice. We had a beautiful lunch followed by Guylian Cheesecake for myself Salted Caramel gateau for my husband this was also followed with Mince pies and tea or coffee. There was also some back ground music with a girl singing various songs which was nice. We drank I very nice bottle of wine with our meal which was Barefoot white Zinfandel Rose which was so nice I have bought a bottle since. Couldn’t fault the complete experience the staff as always are friendly always helpful. We would definitely do this again or attend any of the events The Green has to offer. It’s also a great cafe for a snack or a lovely cake coffee"

"Plenty of seating. Easy to order via table app. Friendly staff and love the fact I can bring my dog and eat in the cozy bar area. I did expect the food service to be a little faster. "I visited this place today with my 6 friends for brunch at 12:00, upon recommendation from one of them. The place is very easy to find being Newport Retail Park, in Spytty, downstairs of Tesco’s Extra. You can park at Tesco’s for free up to 3 hours or park at the Retail Parl unlimited duration.the restaurant is fairly new opened approximately 3 months ago. It’s very big, spacious, tables are not crowded, it’s nicely and elegantly decorated in pretty blue colour. There’s a big bar at the entrance. There’s a nice golden trimmed sette at the entrance perfect for souvenirs photo before you leave. The place has a large conservatory that’s very bright and oversees the retail park and the road. The roof and the sides of it can be automatically lifted weather permitting . Staff are very attentive and friendly from owner Mr. Ghareeb, to waiter John and finally chef Roza. We immediately had free jugs of iced tap water followed by complimentary Turkish tea (Chai) in tiny Eastcan. We ordered Turkish breakfast £8, English breakfast £8.50 that came with complimentary fresh hot off the oven Turkish bread. The restaurant can cater for big parties and events with open buffet. I fully recommend visiting and I will definitely revisit. BTW, all meat is HALAL."
