I discovered this pub from a Google search and went purely by the reviews which weren't wrong. A lovely cosy pub with friendly staff plus great food and drink, you can't go wrong.

Found this lovely place and gave it a try, the food and atmosphere was so nice we have booked a table for tomorrow night. Definitely worth a visit for good food and family friendly.

We love this place. Nothing is too much trouble.Great service, great atmosphere, great food. My partner is not a big eater so a small roast lunch was provided at child's menu prices. Beautifully cooked fish and a great lamb roast. Always a good time.

Absolutely incredible food and great service. Literally outstanding food for a pub. More like fine dining but at pub prices! It's a good job we live an hour away or we'd be spending so much money in this place! Very very impressed and highly recommend. Great food for kids too, and there's a decent play park down the road

This is one of the nicest, friendliest pub I have been to in a very long time, we hadn't booked but we were welcomed in, with almost open arms, into an already very busy pub, the food was outstanding. The extra special touches all round were great. The owner is very aware of what people want and need. Even down to personal hygiene and care products in the ladies toilets. Well done Mark and team, absolutely outstanding

here for lunch on Saturday, friendly and friendly and accredited, we were an hour early for our booking, which was not a problem for them. service was good and the food was excellent. all three of us had the special bark, mushroom and ale cake, good cake. excellent price-performance ratio, lots of space between tables and lots of space for our large gray-edged to lie away. highly recommended excellent service and excellent eating

Booked here for lunch on a Saturday, staff friendly and welcoming and accomodating, we were an hour early for our booking which wasn't a problem for them. Service was good and the food was excellent. All three of us had the special Beef, Mushroom and Ale pie, good pie. Excellent value for money, plenty of space between tables and plenty of space for our large greyhound to lie down out of the way. Walked up from Winchester high street. Only a 15 minute walk but uphill, so you definitely earn your pint! My greeting was very warm and I felt welcomed. Had a pint out in the garden and enjoyed the peaceful evening. Dinner specials sounded so good but I had my heart set on fish and chips. As a tourist I had been on the hunt for a really good fish and chip experience in a pub and this was 10/10. I will be back for the dinner features though... Food quality was fresh, well prepared and excellent value for money.

if we could give this pub 5 stars plus, then we would! found this pub on Google search while visiting my family. we have all decided to give it after the readings, and we were not disappointed. the food was absolutely delicious, each cure perfectly cooked, very tasteful and well presented, absolute top compliments to the cook. the service was very good, our food arrived in a timely manner and was served with a smile, it was a great experience and we would highly recommend............we will definitely come back when in winchester. great experience.
