"really friendly, welcoming pub. the food and wine offer is diverse and well thought out. we enjoyed three delicious meals. my daughter is allergic to milk and was given on her burger alternative cheese and felt as if her allergy had made her speciality rather than difficult. I am a vegetarian who has various allergies and unloved and I was presented a fantastic series of objects on the tapas plate all beautifully. my man enjoyed a perfect fish, chips and posh mushy heap. all about our experience was on the spot. we will definitely go back and recommend this wonderful facility."

"We had an absolutely fantastic meal here today! I was dining with my children, and the waiter took the time to show my son how to twirl his spaghetti on his fork just like “real Italians.” He also brought balloons for both of my kids. Everything was perfect, and nothing was too much trouble. The experience was wonderful, and we will definitely be returning. Thank you so much!"

"Called in for lunch after visiting the Abbey, so glad we did. Lovely place , clean with very friendly staff and lovely tempting displays of cakes and other goodies. We decided to have lunch, my partner chose the coronation chicken on brown (his favourite sandwich filling) he declared it the best he’d every had and waxed lyrical about how good the bread was as well. I opted for the home made ham and cheese quiche which was absolutely delicious, both plates beautifully presented with different salads on the side. Portion sizes were good and with tea for two proved a lovely lunch, unfortunately we’d no room for cakes sadly. Unfortunately we were only in Sherborne for the day but if we ever find ourselves there again we will definitely revisit, unfortunately I didn’t think to take photos until the plates were empty! They do what they do very well and with a smile, a little gem."

"This is by no means my first review of this lovely pub. But the consistency we find with their meals and the Sunday roast in particular is worth telling over and over. Today three of us all went for the roast beef melt in the mouth, and cut just as one wants it, rare for those of us who like it that way, through to well done if that's your preference. And served with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pud, four seasonal vegetables (today it was red cabbage, broccoli, carrots and green beans) and lots of thick beef gravy. We chose not to have starters or desserts this time, opting for the large main meal alone and so ignoring the slightly smaller option. Today, had we not gone for the beef, we could have had the pork, which we have had on occasion, as it always comes with stuffing and perfect crackling. And it is always just as good great consistency that we've never found anywhere else, and price wise it's all amazing good value too. In short, it's hard to beat, on quantity, quality and price and little wonder therefore that it's always wise to book in advance. That said, Dave and Di run a place where nothing's too much trouble and they'll always fit you in if they can, but my advice is, when it comes to food this good, don't leave it to chance, pick up the phone and book. We already have, and we'll be back at our usual table next Sunday."

"You just feel welcome here! Wait! Soothing calm and pleasant accommodations with British flair. The food was delicious and brought to you delicately with charm and charming hospitality by Ellie. The rooms are spacious and equally nicely decorated although dated. Dorset’s countryside will enchant you! But careful! When receiving the bill by email I saw they overcharged £27,50. £59 for champagne we did not order. We preferred an honest Crémant at £37. £1 for the unimpressive nuts that came with it is purely insane! £5,50 for food we never ordered? Credited too although I had to insist. Not impressed because I felt cheated!"
