The Greyhound Inn - Carta

The staff and location were 10/10 but the food was BAD. I got the caesar salad and it was so depressing so I didn't spend any more money there.

Great food with generous portions, friendly and efficient staff (even with the baking weather! , and lovely outdoor seating. Highly recommended.

Absolutely great welcoming pub, despite it been a busy Friday summers evening, we were seated almost straight away outside at the back, lovely views of the Castle, and wonderful local ciders food, especially the warm Dorset Apple Cake

Tasty food which came out quickly. Personally really enjoyed the pork bites! Toilets were clean, garden was nice but I found sitting on the benches for a meal is a bit uncomfortable after a couple of minutes. You can proceed straight from the pub to the castle but you have to make a U turn as you’re coming out after the ticket office and they ask for your receipt further up.

3 of us went for some food we all really enjoyed the food and local cider , great service from the staff, I had fish and chips which was really tasty and came with tartare sauce pea and mint sauce skin on fries the fish was really well cooked and tasted lovely , my friends had the pulled pork burger and said it was excellent , most main meals are approx £18 which was good for the quality and service. Never met the chef or kitchen staff but they definitely know how to create great food. Ver carta

Today, we had the pleasure of dining at The Greyhound Inn, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was welcoming, and we easily found a cozy spot in the back garden under a pergola. For my meal, I ordered a steak with salad and fries, while my friends chose chicken wings with spicy sauce, salad, and onion rings. We also enjoyed a pint of shandy. The food was delicious, with generous portions that left us satisfied. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the sides complemented it well. Absolutely wonderful! My sister and I recently visited while camping in the area and we fancied lunch after mooching about the Castle. We arrived and sat in the beautiful outdoor seating area (gorgeous views! with our two dogs, both of whom were warmly welcomed. Alex took our order for drinks and food and he was so sweet and knowledgeable. I'm not exaggerating even a little when I say that Alex arrived back with our drinks 3 4 minutes later and, maybe 2 3 mins after that, so did our food! I stopped by the restaurant last night for a drink around 9:05pm. The person who seemed to be the manager informed us that they were closing at 10pm. We went to the bar where a staff member, without any greeting or politeness, told us we could only have one drink. When we mentioned what the manager had told us about being able to have drinks until closing time, the bartender abruptly stated that he had already shut down the pumps. Despite this, he eventually poured our drinks. At 9:40pm, he came out to the garden and told us we had 3 minutes to finish up and leave.
