"9 of us came to celebrate a birthday with an afternoon tea. We were seated in a side shed which was fine for us. Teas and coffees came in pots and were absolutely fine. The food arrived with a gluten free option and a child option, both of which received thumbs up. I can only really judge my own food though. The bread for the sandwiches was nice but some of the filling was too dry with little to moisten the sandwich making it dry. The egg mayo one obviously got that right and was really nice, but the chicken and salad one took more chewing than it should have done. The mini sausage roll was lovey and warm…. On the outside and frozen in the centre…. Not good I’m afraid! The berries accompanying the dessert elements were good and the scone was nice along with the cream and jam. The small cake element and cupcake were overly sweet and with far too much buttercream, creating an unpleasant sweet overload that wasn’t for me at all. I appreciate that an afternoon tea has many elements and getting them all in a row is a difficulty in itself, unfortunately for me though there were a few elements that detracted from my enjoyment of it. Not awful by any means, but room for improvement. Good location, nice decor and friendly staff."

"We popped in here for an impromptu lunch early one lunch service. We walked in were asked if we wanted to sit in the bar or restaurant area . Only visited here for drinks before. We ordered a tuna melt baguette the Lincolnshire sausage baguette Very tasty served with a fresh side salad delicious chips. Large portions but we did eat most ! Very pleasant gentlemen on service Restaurant was bright , clean we will definitely make another visit for lunch look forward to trying the evening service"

"To be fair, I realise this is pub food and not a carvery or restaurant, but our party of four were left unimpressed by the food, although the service was good. To begin with, we found the rectangular plates off putting and portions were very small. Had the lunch been served on a round dinner plate the small portions would have been obvious. My own lunch was cold and the roast pork looked and tasted more like smoked ham. Two of our party had sliced beef and were equally unimpressed, especially as the Yorkshire puddings were rather overcooked and dark looking rather than golden. Only the fish and chips of our fourth member looked and tasted good. The desserts, sorbet and rhubarb crumble were fine, as was the selection of wines to choose from. The pub itself looked clean and nicely decorated."

"Ethan's, or Damon's Japanese brother, is a really nice place to eat with a group of friends and or family. If you're lucky enough to land the head chef, you're in for a treat. We had a great time watching Simon perform awesome tricks for us. Everything he cooked was brilliant too. But I have to say, I could cook all the Teppanyaki to the same standard at home. But maybe I'm biased (also a head chef). Simon did a good job of correcting the two mistakes made when ordering, and was very engaging. He turned what could have been a negative in to a positive. I really appreciated that, and the extra lengths he went to, to keep us entertained. My one heavy criticism would be of the meat potions. I know from my own experience that for a couple of pounds, you can buy a large duck breast, especially in bulk. So I was disappointed that the duck breast was clearly on the very small side. But that didn't take away from the fact that every other aspect of the meal was excellent. I will DEFINITELY go back. Other than that, the Sake machine was broken, yet they worked around it. The desert of deep fried, vanilla ice cream was incredible, as Simon said it would be."

"Ordered a take away from here last night had a couple of meals from here they have been v good) we ordered chicken biryani and a chicken Balti nan. The biryani was tasteless , the chicken was was hard/overcooked? chicken balti was no...better, the chicken again overcooked/bland . When the delivery driver turned up wanted an extra pound for delivery we were under the impression this was included on our bill when ordering online. want recommend or order again.. waste of"
