Cracking Sunday lunch today at the Oval Tavern! Excellent food (really lovely roast), great atmosphere and fantastic staff. A classic pub. Thank you! Will be back.

Fabulous lunch for five at this great pub. Soup was amazing and the peanut stew was so good. Great real ales as well. Can't speak highly enough about this hidden gem.

My favorite place in the world! The team is spectacular, the food is outstanding, and they have the best beer garden in town. The presence of cats is an added bonus. <3 Ver carta

Food very good here.. almost surprisingly so. Everything we ordered was very well done , tasty and quality. Staff super friendly and accommodating. Wish more pubs were like this.

Fantastic little pub that really is a hidden gem. Visited Sunday lunchtime. Friendly staff. Live band just setting up and lots of tables reserved. Cosy atmosphere and large garden terrace area with lots of picnic tables and plenty of bright and cheerful flowers. We only had some chips but they were very tasty and food sounds great. Didn't stay for the music but will look forward to visiting again in the future.

The Oval Tavern in East Croydon is a hidden gem that is always bustling with customers. It is highly recommended to make a reservation in advance in order to enjoy one of their delicious Sunday roasts with exceptional Yorkshire puddings. The staff is friendly and efficient, even during busy times. The restaurant has a great atmosphere with a variety of quiz and live music events. I visited this pub to see a great band, but unfortunately had a negative experience. The staff accused my girlfriend of stealing a drink, even though she had not even had her own. As a result, they refused to serve me. When I tried to calm the manager by placing my hand on his shoulder, he falsely claimed to the bouncer that I had punched him in the arm. It was a chaotic situation and I would recommend avoiding this pub, particularly due to the dishonesty of the bar manager, Mike.

We were at the Oval Tavern for our Estelle and Debbie’s wedding reception in the courtyard on the 9th September 2023. We all had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and evening. The staff were very welcoming and extremely friendly. The food was very good with a good choice of vegetables. My husband and I had beef and a gorgeous crisp yorkshire pudding. We could not fault it. Well done to all the staff, they helped to make it the wonderful wedding day for Estelle and Debbie to look back on.

The Oval is located in a quiet residential area, about five minutes walk from East Croydon Station. It 's well worth the walk to find this traditional, characterful independent pub with friendly staff. But whilst it remains a traditional pub, it doesn 't dwell to much on the past and has a nice up to date vibe. Unfortunately there was only one ale on offer at the time of our visit from Laine 's, a Brighton brewery, but we were assured they normally have more, and like to support smaller London breweries. Our Fabulous Food features a good range of unpretentious hearty meals and substantial snacks at reasonable prices apart from the Sunday Roast £13), all dishes come in at under a tenner. Vega...
