"I remember this pub from years ago when it had separate bars. Now, it's transformed into a restaurant that serves beer. I only decided to go there last night because it was nearby. Price per person: £1–10. Food: 4 stars. Service: 4 stars. Atmosphere: 2 stars."

"My favourite pub on the island. It’s comfortable, welcoming and had a great range of food and drinks. Dog biscuit on welcome for your furry friend, outdoor seating which is beautiful is summer and right by the sea. Its interior is rustic but modern, and staff are always quick to serve and poor your favourite drinks. There’s also board games and booths, a pool table and live music. It’s exactly what you want from a pub Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Loaded Nachos, Sunday Carvery"

"We have dined here a few times due to a previous pleasant experience hence thought we’d eat here again but, on this occasion, the service and hospitality was extremely disappointing. Our dining experience wasn’t the same perhaps due to new management Jacey’s used to be called The Queen Phillippa. When we arrived, first of all, the restaurant was empty. We ordered food after which another couple arrived. The waitress, upon observation, was extremely attentive towards the couple sat next to us having cleared their plates from the table as soon as they had finished their starter and main courses. She completely bypassed us, nor did she clear our plates until we asked for the bill. Two additional members of staff, furthermore, checked in on the same table, asking if they were ok and, once again, completely ignored us. A group of males also arrived, were seated and checked on regularly. Why not treat every table the same? Isn’t that true customer service? I’m not one to use the race card but if you’re a person of colour beware of this place now that it’s under new management #justsaying #callingyouout"

"Went here on the back of reading all the glowing reports on trip advisor and I have to say I am really let down.. I am a lone traveller so it takes a lot for me to walk into a pub on my own and the welcome I got was anything but friendly. I went into the ‘quiet’ side of the pub and waited patiently for the staff to serve me. Having gone in the pub for dinner after a long day travelling I was greeted by a less than happy face Which instantly put me on the back foot! when I asked politely if they were serving food I got a very abrupt ‘no’ with no explanation. I asked why and was told in a very curt and rude manner that there was no chef. With that I turned around and left the pub immediately. I do not think in this day and age there is any excuse for rudeness when all that needed to be said was an apology explaining there was no chef this evening."

"I placed a large order with this Chinese takeout for a family celebration. Over an hour after the estimated delivery time, I contacted the restaurant for an update. I was then informed that the food had been delivered to the wrong address. The manager I spoke with on the phone said the driver had delivered to the wrong address and did not follow the delivery instructions which stated "please call when you are outside." The manager then informed me that due to the driver's error, he would replace the food and send the driver out immediately with a fresh order, which would take 20 minutes. Shortly after this phone call, I was told to cancel the order as they had already given the food out and would not be cooking it again despite the error being on their part. Moments later, I received a text saying the order was cancelled. This was over 2 hours since I originally placed my order. The manager was rude and dismissive over the phone, displaying poor customer service skills. He did not offer an apology or make any effort to correct the mistake. I am extremely disappointed with the service I received."
