Visited with family on Tuesday for the “buy one get one half price” burger night. Great burgers, really enjoyed them and really friendly staff working.

We had an excellent visit to The Portland Inn, everyone was friendly and the food was fresh and tasty and priced very reasonably. We were served by Alice and she was very attentive and pleasant. My advice would be just go and I am sure that you won’t be disappointed.

Portland Inn offers good value food, the service is excellent and staff extremely helpful. We stopped in for Sunday lunch on the spur of the moment, without a reservation and were able to get a table as it was just after midday. It did get busier as the afternoon went on. There was a ‘pub menu’ and good range of choice on the ‘specials’ board. The food arrived quickly, was well presented, and piping hot. Well worth a visit.

I am 58 years old and I have estimated that in that time I have had thousands of roast beef dinners, The Portland's roast beef is the best I have ever had, perfectly medium rare, perfect veg and a great selection of real ales. Now we have all been to a pub and had a nice meal then gone back a few months or a year later, the management or chef has changed and the quality has gone downhill, not here I have been going for the last 7 years and every time it's amazing, I think they have chained their chef to the cooker because it's the same one!
