"As for vegetarian options, there were some available, but I'm afraid I can't recall the details. If they hadn't served fish and chips, I would have certainly chosen one of those options, as I don't eat meat. Price per person: £10–20 Food rating: 5/5 Service rating: 5/5 Atmosphere rating: 4/5 Recommended dish: Fish and Chips Parking availability: There’s plenty of parking, with a free parking lot. "

During my first visit, which had been delayed due to the pandemic, I had an excellent experience at Gammonen Eichips. The chips were the best I've ever had, served in a generous portion. My wife ordered the fish and chips, and the fish was a great size. Overall, it was a very pleasant meal, and I highly recommend it.

"I have used Tripadvisor for a number of years and have always left glowing reviews of places I have visited but unfortunately on this occasion I feel the need to complain about the appalling attitude of what I believe to be the owner of the Bluebell. We happened to be staying in the next village with friends and whilst talking to some of the locals about food we were told that the Bluebell was the place to go but were forewarned before going that the attitude of the owner lets the place down. We phoned earlier on in the day and booked a table for 6pm for 4 adults and 3 children aged 1,11 months and 5. We arrived and were greeted by a very pleasant lady who seated us at the table. The menus were brought to the table but instantly we could see that there wasn’t a children’s menu. It was a case of us having to suggest what our children wanted and the server having to go back and forth to the kitchen to see what they could conjure up. We ordered and waited. The starters arrived and were wonderful, we then received our mains and enjoyed those also, the steak pie being a big hit ! During our meals we noticed that an older lady had turned up and was in the kitchen. My partner noticed that this lady was constantly staring in our direction. Our children weren’t boisterous but purely enjoying their evening. We were mindful of other diners in the restaurant and made sure the children were occupied. one was playing with his toy animals, another in his pram and the youngest stood on his mothers lap looking out of the window. My partner felt increasingly intimidated as this lady continued to stare at her from the kitchen. Myself and my friend went to pay the bill which was almost £170 and returned to the table. As we were preparing to leave the elderly lady stormed over to the table and abruptly told my child to stop playing with the lamps in the window as they were crystal and complained that the lamp hadn’t been returned to where it was placed ! Her attitude and the way she asked was appalling considering we had just parted with £170 ! She had been staring at us for a good 15 minutes and conveniently waited for us to pay the bill before coming over! My child was 11 months old, was sat on his mothers knee and looking out of the window, his hand barely touched the ‘crystal lamp’ !! This put a serious dampener on the evening and her attitude was absolutely disgusting!! In short I highly advise you not to visit the blue bell if you have children, you will be watched like a hawk and will feel most uncomfortable and intimidated. I suggest dining elsewhere in places that are more welcoming and child friendly!"
