We drove along the coast to the west and decided not to stop in Brighton because it was too crowded. Thankfully, we came across this pub by the water. It has a fantastic view, and the interior is just as charming as the exterior. The food was great, although it could have used a bit more salt. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Ver carta

However, when the bill came, there was a charge labeled "WET." We questioned it but didn't receive a clear explanation, as everything we ordered was already listed on the bill. This was concerning! In hindsight, I should have insisted on clarification, but we were in a hurry, so we left feeling a bit confused. As for parking, it was free and there were plenty of spaces available.

A good menu with a variety of meat, fish and vegetarian choices. The Beef linguine had a lovely rich sauce complemented by tasty garlic bread slices. Our waiter Addison provided a calm and proficient service but was hampered by the slow kitchen service. The pub was not full on the Saturday lunchtime when my table of 5 entered at 13:35. A 40 minute wait between order and plate was excessive. Parking: The adjacent east side of the pub.

We held our mother's wake at the Smugglers Rest this past Tuesday, and they set aside a special area for us. It was absolutely perfect—the buffet was fantastic, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, especially with the fire going, creating a cozy and relaxing environment. It was just what our family and friends needed during this time. The staff was incredibly accommodating, and nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you for everything!
