"We stayed 2 nights for my wife’s birthday and overall it was a very nice relaxing stay. Staff were helpful and friendly and rooms comfortable, and I’ve only marked down a star because of the slightly limited menu the food on offer was very good which was the same for lunch and dinner. A few lunch options would’ve been appreciated as would 2 3 more options of both starter and main courses. A couple more slight negatives was that one of the toilet rolls in the room was half used and the shower head leaked badly from one end which should’ve been picked up. Overall a very good visit."

Really good food, really good service and reasonably priced. We'll treat it as our local now and will go back again soon.

Historically good food. We had three starters. Don’t let the impression of the pub fool you. Food absolutely amazing. Clearly a chef that can cook. An amazing surprise.

Food first class so was the service. Dealt with my gluten intolerance and my sea food intolerance all without a bat of an eye. First place to EVER give me a gluten free Yorkshire pudding with my roast.

Great pub. Welcoming. Good food and excellent beers. Friendly and approachable staff. Enjoyed an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast. No complaints at all. Certainly return and no doubts of recommending to others.

As ever the quality of the food and friendly service was spot on. However (and not for the first time) the cheese board was very disappointing. Minimal everything for unreasonable £11! We will speak personally to the management about this. This element needs to improve

We recently spent three nights staying at the Swan while visiting family in Loddon over the Bank Holiday. Wevhad a nice modern, spacious room with a very comfortable bed. The breakfasts were delicious. The atmosphere in the pub is great and the staff were so friendly and helpful such a fantastic team! We will definitely look forward to returning on our next trip.

What a fantastic Sunday lunch, the food was mega! The best roast beef I have eaten for years, tender and delicious. A lovely variety of vegetables, with light yorkshire puddings and crispy potatoes. The portions are quite large but we did manage a pudding which was equally as delicious. One very minor point, two of the waitresses were on their first shifts and needed a little more guidance. We will definitely be back. Certainty the best Roast we can find locally.

Walked into the bar to be met by a dog seated at the bar, on a bar stool! I kid you not. The owners of the dog were standing alongside the bar with their flippin’ snout nosed pooch perched on two stools. Puhlease! We bought drinks and moved to another part of the bar as far away as possible. Settled into our seats when an over-exuberant black dog dashed in and defaecated on the floor close to where we were sitting. The owner rushed to collect the detritus but the stench was awful! Won’t be going back any time soon.

The pub clearly has been revamped and looked like it had been renovated. Great atmosphere, welcoming and warm. We had a beer and decided to eat. My partner is vegan and she had one of her best meals. The crusted tofu with a taper sauce was really good and had an amazing flavour. She had a dark chocolate torte with Raspberry sorbet a perfect to follow . My meal was less spectacular Beer Battered Cod, Triple Cooked Chips and Crushed Peas. Excellent although I did not think the crushed peas were as good as traditional mushy peas.

"So disappointingBefore coming to the swan I had looked at the menu online, as my youngest child has allergies and is dairy free. It states on the menu that ‘light bites’ are GF and most can be adapted to be DF, brilliant! It was our last day of our holiday and I thought I’d treat them to a nice lunch out before heading home. Where do I start, the service attitude from the lady behind the bar was shocking. I asked what could be made DF for my son and was told that there wasn’t anything and they don’t cater for allergies?! I pointed out on the menu that they state they can and was met with an eye roll basically. Anyway, I thought I would get him some chips, nope, they fry them in the same oil as the dairy and meat products we are vegetarian ! I then asked about the VEGAN dishes they had and I was told they are also cooked and prepared for alongside the meat products so they can’t guarantee they will actually be vegan!! By this point my daughters had already got excited about eating out and the play area that I couldn’t really back track, so I went against my better judgement and ordered 3 sandwiches on granary bread and a childrens fish chips. My son had a packet of crisps. The sandwiches arrived and were absolutely awful, the cheese and onion one was 2 slices of cheap shop bought bread with some pre grated cheese and a couple of slices of onion not even any butter! It wasn’t cheap, £45 for 4 soft drinks, 3 sandwiches and a child meal. Then there’s the play area, sharp screws poking up through the wood chip, lose sharp fixings on top of the slide, and a massive electric open cable under the swings! We swiftly left, it was such a bad end to our holiday and should have been our final hurrah before driving home. Was appalled at their attitude towards me, was treated like an inconvenience, food was awful, please don’t eat there if you are Vegan, although the dish is vegan ? they certainly don’t take the steps necessary to keep it away from meat, and definitely not safe for anyone with an allergy. Such a shame as the location is so pretty with the river opposite, we were excited and left feeling really disappointed. Will not be back."
