"This review and experience is written off the back of another visit with other family members last year. Both have now been underwhelming. Given the current challenges for the hospitality sector you like to give places a second chance, but sadly customer service fell over big time and when combined with last years experience I will not be spending my hard earned cash here again. When you have a lunchtime time offer and members of a large family group are obviously ordering with that in mind; if you have the same meals on the menu not within the offer it is clearly the duty of the staff to seek clarification and ask what option is being utilised! If I had not been at a family event I would have strongly argued the point with the manager, but sadly I did not want to spoil the atmosphere. If the manager argues differently in response to this review he/she will just be proving my point! The food is very average and although I am sure all staff are trying hard and others may have better experiences, I will not be giving the Three Horse Shoes a third opportunity to get it right."

Lovely food in a pub with great atmosphere and very welcoming staff. Visited with the grandkids who we made equally welcome. Highly recommend.

Quiet meal after playing golf. We were greeted warmly by the staff. The food and service were first class. A very pleasant way to conclude a Bank Holiday Monday

This restaurant is a delightful spot to enjoy a meal and drinks. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and overall it was a wonderful experience! I highly recommend it – you will love it.

We had a pleasant visit with six people. The staff were friendly, the food was rated 7 out of 10, and the ambience was good. The exterior of the restaurant looked lovely, but unfortunately the weather was not ideal. We would definitely consider returning in the future.

Fabulous atmosphere for a Saturday evening meal. Excellent service and delicious food. Great choice for vegetarians: Glazed Honey Camembert starter and Sweet Potato and Red Onion Tart were incredible. Family really enjoyed steak and different burgers. Made a fab choice for this meal will definitely return!

Service was appalling we were mopping up spilt coffee and the staff member just watched without offering any help/towels/ interest The food when it arrived was poor the roast was accompanied by veg that was clearly heated up from frozen (or if it wasn't it was spectacularly badly cooked). The pie had next to no filling much like a packet of Walkers crisps We have been to this pub on many occasions but will not darken their doorstep again

I took my family to Shoes for a Sunday roast in the late afternoon. The portion sizes were generous, and the chicken roasts that my kids and partner had were delicious. I opted for the special Venison roast, which was phenomenal. The local, in-season Venison was beautifully presented and the slow-braised pulled venison paired perfectly with a flavorful stuffing. The meat was tender and not overly gamey. I highly recommend it as a unique option for a roast. I give it a perfect 10 out of 10.

Quite slow service from the kitchen although the pub wasn't really busy. Starters of veggie soup garlic mushrooms were excellent, well presented tasty. Mains courses I ordered cod mornay but got cod chips .I ate it as didn't want to wait for correct meal. The cod inside the batter was overcooked and very dry Husband ordered pie but was to full to eat it had it put in a box to take home however I forgot it ,went back about 15-20minutes later it had been binned, which waste of a tasty looking pie

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."

"We had a tremendously good lunch here today-the food was quite delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful-I’d say it’s probably one of the best lunches I’ve had in quite some time….so to give you a clue we both had the pork-this sounded really lovely and we were not disappointed-pork belly, tenderloin,a faggot and a ham hock croquet with mashed potato and roasted cauliflower with a delicious jus and a slice of pickled apple( which I ate immediately with a piece of pork and when the waiter came to ask how our lunch was I asked if he could possibly get me another piece-which he did For dessert we shared the passion fruit crème brûlée which came with a passion fruit sorbet and some chocolate soil…..the focaccia we had at the start of the meal was superb and the coffee was also excellent -we do enjoy both cooking and eating-one of life’s pleasures and it’s abundantly clear the chef absolutely loves food too-a great display of cooking books from the greats sort of got me thinking it would be a good lunch…….also worth noting the drinks menu-some lovely wines, soft drinks and cocktails both alcoholic and non alcoholic. I finished off with a mocha which was hot chocolatey but not too sweet. Bradford on Avon is most definitely worth a visit and I’d say you would be foolish to miss out on a great experience if you didn’t also pop in to the bunch of grapes for some sustenance while there… Thanks for lunch and as Arnie says “ we’ll be back”….."
