"had a little work christmas party here and the food was great. really good quality and standard of food. good portions too. however, the staff at the bar created a table bill for drinks and when we went down to the bar, they insisted that we cannot pay for our drink separately from our table bill. this in turn created a large drink bill where they put a 20% service charge on top of all the drinks. the drinks took very long, some were forgotten and service was slow. the staff didnt seem like they knew how to handle large group bills as well. we had booked this a month beforehand and didnt seem prepared at all. when some of my colleagues tried to take off the OPTIONAL service charge, they argued that it couldn't be taken off. would go there again for food but wouldn't have high expectations for the service. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3"

Waste of time and money. I came to Bradford on Avon after I had made a reservation to this specific restaurant and after 25 minutes we didn’t even receive our table in the restaurant area. Service: 1

Despite being a restaurant, we went to try the wine. For my taste it is a little expensive but we really liked the wine. Very friendly staff. I don't know how the food will be, but it looked delicious. Highly recommended. Ver carta

Food was good but asking a Service charge of £6 for each person on a christmas meal pre-ordered of more than 10 persons not right, especially for a service just meeting expectations £6/pers (so min £60) was a rip off for the service ! Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

Took 15 minutes before they took our drinks order, and a further 20 minutes to bring us only one of the two drinks we ordered. Had to go up to the bar to get the second drink. Food was great. Got our bill wrong and tried to overcharge us. Quality kitchen with unacceptable front of house especially for the prices they charge.

Food is good and the place has atmosphere. However , it’s expensive and the service was poor .. we waited 75 mins to be fed because too much priority was given to serving a party of 20+ … if you can’t realistically cope with the numbers , why take bookings from people and then make them wait too long for their food ?… It was poor and ruined what should have been a nice evening Ver carta

My partner and I had a wonderful evening at the Bunch of Grapes (partner’s first visit, my second). The atmosphere was warm and lively without being too noisy. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of white wine and both very much enjoyed our meal (beef hake), even stretching to a dessert which we don’t normally go for! On the pricier side but well worth it for a treat! Would absolutely recommend.

Service was really bad, we had a reservation for 2:45 which was not ready and we were asked to go for a walk and return in 15 minutes. When we returned (soaking wet) they offered us another table which we declined because it was right next to the door in the cafe area and not what we originally booked. I am not throwing away my money on this. Even more disappointed because we have come here before and the service was actually good. Would not recommend anymore. Service: 1

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."
