"An absolute pleasure to find ourselves here for lunch. A charming and picturesque inn, with thatch roof and an old English charm to it, we were very happy and full by the end of our meal. Everything was beautiful, especially the locally sourced beef and we couldn't help but have dessert to finish. A lovely couple who were polite and fast with service. Parking was easy and cost very reasonable considering where we were. I honestly would highly recommend for couples or families. They had toys to keep my youngest busy whilst we waited and by the end she didn't want to go home. I just wished I'd have taken a photo because the property is honestly stunning. With the cottage feel and the low beams and thatching, it really does look like something out of a fairytale. Very clean and quaint. Parking: Lots of space, easy to access. Kid-friendliness: Toys available to keep them busy, lots of space outside, easy access to the toilets for children. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp on the door for east entry and throughout the property. "We have visited a few times over the summer including some evening drinks in the pretty beer garden with super countryside views as well an evening meal and a Sunday lunch. The evening meal provided a good choice of hearty pub food. We particularly enjoyed the pie which had been cooked as one large one in a tray and cut up. So tasty! The Sunday lunch was a choice of two roasted meats (as well as a veggie option) which came with proper stuffing, a great choice of vegetables and some good roasties. There were also a couple of other main options other than the roasts. We were so full we couldn't take advantage of one of the deserts which looked good on other tables. Would recommend for a good priced, hearty, home cooked meal with a range of meal choices. Thank you"

"We run a Welcome Cafe for people who live alone and people who just need company and support. We come under the umbrella of the Lyme Regis Development Trust and we decided that we would treat nearly thirty people to a Christmas lunch and the Hunters Lodge did us proud. The Christmas table decorations were beautiful and the lunch was excellent and so well presented. Service was first class and the staff were so kind to our visitors. We really don’t know where to start to thank you Hunters Lodge for giving us all such a wonderful afternoon and you can be sure that your community spirit in helping so many people to enjoy an afternoon in the run up to Christmas will not go unnoticed. We would therefore highly recommend you to any individual or organisation wishing to have a lovely meal and excellent service. "I got a take away from here last year and whilst it wasn’t amazing, it was ok so ordered here again as reviews are better than the other chineses. Well the quality was not great at all. I’ll go dish by dish. Half duck was super fatty and on the undercooked side, no crispy skin at all. The cucumber and spring onion was a tiny tub, the same you get with the 1/4 duck. The hoisin sauce and pancakes were decent. I had ordered extra pancakes as usually we need it but here, the meet was so bad that we only managed to finish one pack of six pancakes. King prawn chow mein, one of the better dishes, good flavours, loads of huge king prawns so good value. Stir fried vegetables avoid! No flavour, soggy and mostly bean sprouts. Young chow fried rice waste of money. It doesn’t have the young chow flavour at all. Just regular egg fried rice with dry meat and shrimp. Egg fried rice no actual pieces of egg and doesn’t have that wok flavour but it’s edible Crab meat sweetcorn soup real crabmeat but not much of the meat. The soup flavour was quite nice but way too gloopy for my liking. Hot sour soup not very spicy, flavour ok, shrimps were not fresh. Sweet sour chicken balls good, batter not too heavy. Unusual sauce, I liked it but not all my kids did. Chicken ginger spring onion one of the better dishes, gloopy again but flavour was decent. Clean chicken meat pieces. King prawn in garlic source not nice, looked like porridge. Unbelievably gloopy, with lots of mushrooms. The prawns were large but I didn’t like the gloopy source. King prawn Szechuan prawns were battered, source quite sweet and not very spicy, tasted similar to the sweet and sour sauce. Singapore rice noodle ok, quite dry and flavour not special. Edible I won’t be going back."
