"I didn 't actually eat inside the resteraunt. Myself and a friend had actually heard of the resteraunt and thought we should drop by to have a look. The interior is furnished well and appears to be a well running establishment. My friend and I found ourselves needing a toilet, and , seeming as many areas were shutting, we thought to combine the drop for a W/C to scout for a future reservation. Before entering the toilets, I indeed politely asked a staff member to use the toilets. It is a free country, but manners should never be in short supply. They were happy with it. We went ahead, and on our exit, we checked the specials. Then, when exiting, another member of staff delivered a quick, backhanded comment. I was struck by them not even looking me in the face at least look me in the face! 'For future reference, the toilets here are only available to paying customers. ' The message was apt enough, yet the way she said it was filled with distain as though we were staining her establishment. You must never make future costumers feel like they are below you. I originally thought her to be a member of the public I never would have guessed her to be staff. No one else was dining at that moment in the resteraunt. I gave a short reply, and left, not wanting to bother with useless conversation. I later realised I had not told her we had asked to use the facilities and had not merely just barged in with antisocial behaviour on our minds. Perhaps my fault, then; a misunderstanding. But I was struck that she wasn 't more cooperative, as we had evidently asked, and were sure she must have heard. Well, some people are just difficult. Perhaps she was having a bad day, in a mediocre mood, and I hardly blame her for trying to uphold her establishment. But her crude and unfriendly manner disgruntled my friend, and has now resulted in him not wanting to return. We won 't. Money missed out on for them, thanks to the lack of hindsight by a bitter and overzealous staff member. Think before you speak. Communication obviously is not present at this resteraunt, and no doubt if she repeats such behaviour, her customers will decrease exponentially. I am sure, however, that the food is great. My friend had apologised; later, I told him not to apologise unless you have actually done something wrong!"

a nice pub with good food and a fantastic seat with a view of the essential. I highly recommend the midday sandwich deal because their sandwiches may be the best sandwich anywhere.

Celebrated my birthday here yesterday. 12 in our party and it couldn't have gone better. The food was excellent, the service great. Everyone enjoyed it. It helped make my day special. Thank you

A lovely pub to pop into for a quick and tasty meal. Very reasonable prices. We had the added bonus of sitting in the sunshine on the decking overlooking the mere. Super friendly and efficient staff. Ver carta

I was with quite a few people (15) for a engagement celebration, everyone order main courses. Very impressed with the service all the meals arrived quickly and hot. Been a few times before Staff have always been very helpful.

I talked my sister to eat for her birthday. first visit for both of us. this is a so clean and friendly place to visit. we had a water table with a beautiful view. the staff is so friendly and eating is delicious. generous portions and large selection. can highly recommend this place.

my friend and I enjoyed a good dinner in this pub in diss. I had the rump steakskewers and my friend had ham, eggs and chips. the meals were cheap and well cooked. the staff was friendly and helpful. we had a glass of wine and a soft drink. the location at the ounce of the meres is attraktiw and the pub seemed clean and tidy. we were dealing with a fish chip lunch on the market day. the pub was very well protected, which is always a good sign. the fish chips were perfectly cooked with amazing teig. the menu (from what we observed) seemed to be diverse and imaginative and we would probably try other dishes again while we stay in the opposite. you would imagine sitting outside on the terrace in the early year and summer would be especially with a view directly on the sea river.

on an extremely annoying, cold, wet day in diss we needed a good lunch and this pub served us very well. the personal was welcoming, the decor was very pretty and it had a great feeling overall. the view over the sea was not so good with the burning rain hammering down, but at a pleasant day I could imagine it could be lovely. they served to be reasonable trips for the pub. there was no great choice on the menu, but it was enough and we enjoyed everything we had. everything was well baked and in portions were good. the only disappointment was that several articles were not available. the service was good efficient and polite.
