"short; great food, great beer and first class service. we called a Thursday lunch time just before 12:30 a.m. and to our surprise were the parking lot and the pub already full. we hadn't booked in advance and although there were only two of us, we were lucky to get one table. next time we will definitely book a table in advance. there was a good selection of beers and the beer we had was great. the menu offered a good selection of dressed, we had only called for a light lunch and went with the chicken sandwich that was served with chips not quite a light lunch, it was very crowded, but it was fantastic, we really enjoyed it. all in all a great lunch, we'll be back soon."

An old friend recommended this venue to us to belatedly celebrate our daughter's 20th. We booked a table and I can honestly report that the whole experience was brilliant from the start to the end! The service was excellent, the food was more than expected and the ambiance was exactly as expected!

our first visit to this facility and we were not disappointed. I had a brain cake you put on many not find on the menu. it was absolutely delicious. my partner had a 12-oz sirloin I tried. that was beautiful and delicate, with a lot of taste. portion size was huge, so she couldn't finish it. I recommend definitiw.

Went here today, March 8th 2022. Had the 12oz Rump Steak with chips, onion rings, sliced Tomato, garden peas and peppercorn sauce. My partner had the scampi with chips and peas. Washed mine down with a couple of pints of Hereford Pale Ale and my partner had a Coke. Food was really nice. Service was great. Have been before and all being well, will be going again soon.

Love Love Love Love Love Love Love It Here. the cakes are immense, the service is impeccable. there is always someone on the hand and they cover all the extras, so wein top ups, desserts, beside orders and then coffee. they have two sizes for all pub classics. I recommend ordering the little ones and then add page by veg if they want to try dessert! desserts are overpriced as they are nothing special, but does not seem so bad when they share one. book how they are always full! the food is delicious and definitiw worth to add their lists!

during a fantastic visit we were warmly welcome and shown on our comfortable table, the feeling of the restaurant was warm and friendly and our server amelia made us relaxed and welcome. the food was really good, the appetizers of brot and oliven were great,...big pieces of warm brot and a large bowl of oil, with a good part of oliven, and the garlauchbrot was tasty. on the main and the lamb special was really special, beautiful delicate lamb and a teller full of grooms, we cannot comment on desserts because we had no room for one left, we will definitely be back soon.

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
