"on the occasion of a family dinner, an aschaffenburger has chosen this locality. I used to live for many years in the ab and the environment, but it hasn't beat me here yet. After it was called the rumpsteaks his sensational we have also tried it.I can't share the view sensationally. under bleu you can not imagine anything there, and "very narrow" is also more limited to medium-rare.In other words, eating of quality ok, unfortunately you do not miss out on convenience sauces, which I would expect at the price of just 20€ for a rumpsteak of 200g. Here we also come to the main problem: we were all 2 families with children just 20 € for a small rumpsteak with a (small) hand full of bratkartoffeln are clearly too much, and even ketchup and majo to the pommes of the children are extra calculated with 30ct per mini-shells.When calculating over 90€ alone for my family I expect not to ask directly before the door all what there is now to eat. (at the second family it was not different).Come to the service:This is rated as satisfying, as there is no flexibility at all. the offered "noodles with a nice tomato sauce" without a sweet (so even nudulous with tomato sauce) goes exactly as little as a pitzel instead of with cream sauce rather with a pfeffer sauce (which there is to the steaks).Factory:The local may be great for all those who can be in their childhood memories. a famile who wants to go well (and enough) on the occasion of a trip should rather try something else."

the theaterklause is the only Franconian house in aschaffenburg. the kitchen is excellent Franconian and it is fresh and original cooked. there is good beer and the service is professional and family. if you want to eat well and get to know the old aschaffenburg, you are right here

sometimes you can rely on the recommendation of friends (real, not facebook or other social networks), sometimes not. So let's go to the theaterhouse. somehow I can't get along with the food and the approach in traditional German gas stations. that was eating, well, the offer in general has simply not drawn the sausage from the teller. the institution is traditional, people are very dear. but it does not (more) my nerve.

the positive first: the service was friendly, the pumpkin cream soup was good.In remembrance of old times, when he still operated this local, we all ordered the cordon bleu, which was famous in aschaffenburg earlier and also some time after he had sold it, and he was looking for the same, but did not find it. But now it was disappointing: the filling was relatiw tasteless, the panade failed and the pommes were also not good earlier there were the really delicious thick pommes that were now unfortunately replaced by the thin 08/15 sticks. our request for a soße was apparently a problem that we all loved soße with ham cubes no longer exist, but one was also not able to pick up a champignon or...

"The restaurant of the Landhotel Klingerhof two miles away, our base, was closed and the receptionist recommended the Old Church in nearby Haibach, a pretty village in the valley below. It was almost full, and that at 7pm on a Sunday evening - a good sign! The place looked quite authentic, an impression re-inforced by the realisation that many locals were eating there. A friendly young waitress brought us a quite extensive menu in German only and we opted for a carafe of what we were told was a dry white housewine at a moderate price whilst we perused it. Neither of us found the wine dry and it was exchanged for another one without fuss, this time dry. I opted for the onion soup. My wife wanted a small tuna salad as a starter and sensibly suggested we should order our main course later, having seen the size of portions on other tables. My steaming soup arrived first, served in a big bowl; just as well it was so hot that I had to wait because it took some time for her salad to arrive. A starter salad? It was enormous, very fresh and delicious!Outgoing diners had to pass our table and we noticed that nearly all had a ‘doggy bag’ – it seemed to be taken for granted that most would be defeated by the amount of food and cardboard boxes to take uneaten food home were provided as if it was a matter of course. Our first course would have been enough but I felt a bit guilty, ordered some more wine, then agreed with my wife that we would order a Wiener Schnitzel (her choice) to be shared between us. A large plate with two schnitzels, French fries and salad arrived. We just could not do the contents justice (the food tasted fine!) and managed to eat just about a quarter between us. I had to explain to the waitress that there was nothing wrong with the food – on the contrary – and she immediately asked if we wanted a box to take the rest with us, an offer we declined. For two sizable first courses, basket of bread, a gigantic main course and ¾ litres of a very acceptable house wine the bill came to 34 Euros!...This was quantity paired with quality at a give-away price!"
