went during restaurant week for an evening meal. nice location, nice ambience and the food and service were good. not exceptional but well worth a visit.

4 people for sunday lunch. 2 chicken, 1 lamb and 1 beef. Food is delivered on 2 platters, packed with meat and assorted vegetables and yorkies. Excellent and tasty food at a good price. Highly recommended.

The Sunday lunch was delicious and well presented. Good value for money. We clearly had a time limit on our table and they constantly rushed us. I hadn’t finished my drink before it was taken away. I would come back but not regularly. Ver carta

Great food with Great service! We has a table booked for a Party of 10 over the weekend, all meals came out hot, well presented and plentiful, the Curried chicken burger particularly great. It’s nice to see a bit of variety on the menu.

The Sunday platters look huge, enough for two people, but quality is not exceptional, I'd say average. The place was crowded when we arrived, we had to hang around in the crowded bar area, when you book a table they give you a 2 hour...

The roast platters at this restaurant are fantastic. They come with meat, roast potatoes, new potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, peas, and Yorkshire pudding. Even my gluten-free meal included a Yorkshire pudding! It all tasted incredible. I will definitely come back. Our group of 7 shared 3 platters, and there was plenty of food for everyone. Ver carta

Stopped off for some lunch after a dog walk in the area. Nice outdoor seating to enjoy the late summer weather. Very friendly and polite service by bar staff and young waitress. Home cooked fish and chips was impressive. All our food was tasty, served hot and reasonably priced. Nice to find somewhere that focuses on a small menu and doing it well. We’ll be back.

We were recommended lunch here having just purchased a car at the nearby car sales my husband had a couple of pints with a very tasty burger, and I ordered the whitebait starter and a dessert to celebrate our new purchase the pub was very busy as it was such a warm and sunny day, and the customers all seemed jolly and staff friendly and efficient; the waitress who came to clear our plates and check everything was ok whispered “pig” to me when I told her I had ordered a dessert…good job I have a sense of humour and luckily this made me laugh out loud Delicious food

We went for a walk round the common and decided to treat ourselves to a pint here. Ended up having lunch and it was delicious. I had panini with chips and the other half had sausage egg and chips. My panini was bacon, brie and cranberry. Plentiful and flavoursome. Other half enjoyed his. We looked at the dessert board and weren't sure if we wanted one. The barman recommended the waffle with ice cream and fruit. We both went for it. O my, so glad we did! It was divine. Lovely pub, good selection of on tap berr/ake and a good old fashioned chalk board menu. Good selection of food. Prices are extremely good for the area and standard of cooking and presentation is excellent. We felt very comfort... Ver carta
