"Appalling staff attitudes to disability. Two staff at this establishment displaying a disgraceful attitude to a small group of four adults with what was obviously an assistance dog. They made two attempts to usher the group into 'out of the way ' and entirely inappropriate seating, and when their dreadful stance was challenged, smilingly explained that they were 'just following orders ' and that it 'wasn 't their fault '. Where have we heard that before? No knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 or their personal responsibility for what was plainly discriminatory behaviour. New interim Guide Dogs research found that 76% of guide dog owners have been refused access to a business or service at some point. While around half of guide dog owners (49% said they had changed or restricted their plans because they were worried about being challenged or refused access to a business or service because of their guide dog’. Can I suggest anyone and everyone avoids this place until staff and owners have received appropriate retraining."

Ian and his team were incredible hosts offering an amazing service. First night we had the special (haggis in chicken with haggis mash) which was incredible. Went back the next night and had the gluten free fish and chips and a ribeye steak. Absolutely great meal. Ian was great and made sure we were well looked after. Worth booking as it was full on the night. Well worth a visit. Ver carta

This is a fantastic spot! We originally just popped in for coffee, but ended up staying for lunch. The sandwiches were amazing and we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious chips that came with them. The restaurant was quiet when we got there, but it quickly filled up. The service was friendly and quick, both to our table and to others. The place is quite spacious, but it has been beautifully decorated to make it feel warm and cozy, with a nod to its history as a tweed shop.

Came for the Black Pudding burger advertised in the on line menu but this wasn't available. Ordered the Lemon thyme marinated chicken breast burger but it had clearly never seen Lemon, Thyme or any other marinade. The chicken was tasteless the only taste on the burger came from the undercooked fried onions drenched in generic mayonnaise. A flavourless mess. I've paid a lot less and had better burgers from Wetherspoons. it's a great room and I'm hoping they cook other food better but, if you can't get a basic chicken burger right, well, draw your own conclusions.

"We stumbled across this place on the last night of a fortnight in Scotland and couldn 't be more glad that we did and that they had space. We were seated promptly (underneath the fan thankfully considering the heatwave), asked whether we 'd eaten there before (we hadn 't), had the menu explained to us (suggested 3 tapas per person) and then left alone briefly to consider the menu. Once ordered, drinks were delivered in a timely fashion, followed by breads dips to tempt tide us over until our tapas arrived. It wasn 't very quick, but I didn 't think it was unduly long either just the right length of time for non fast food that is being prepared freshly. And when it arrived, we were delighted as it was delicious! The only slight disappointment was that salted cod wasn 't available, but that was soon forgotten. My personal favourite was the poached chorizo in red wine with honey glaze, but we were happy with all of our options (patatas bravas, haggis balls, pinchas de pollo, spinach chickpea stew, haddock in red pepper sauce and Spanish tortilla the latter really made by the spicy tomato salsa on the side). 5 between the two of us would probably have sufficed, which would have meant I had space for one of the ice creams, but in hindsight, I 'm glad I didn 't. Excellent service, delicious food, our best meal of our holiday. We probably won 't be back (living in Birmingham and all) but definitely would if we were local."
