My wife and I had a meal in this restaurant while we were at Lowdhams with our motorhome. We thought that it was going to be really expensive as it looks very nice but the price was fair. The food was lovely, the service was fantastic and I would definitely use this restaurant again if visiting Lowdhams. Ver carta

We had a really lovely festive afternoon tea here about 4yrs ago,unfortunately this wasn’t the case when we returned this year. Apart from a very basic mince pie and a tiny Christmas pudding there was nothing else to indicate it was Christmas. Very poor theme this year. Plus they really shouldn’t use the picnic benches for a festive afternoon tea. These have been used all year round for years and should really be retired now in want of a new idea. Service was slow,we were seated and had to wait 10-15 minutes until a waitress asked us our drinks order. Food was ok,nothing special. I don’t think we will return.

The night we visited was very busy with a large party in. We were greeted and about to be shown to our table when two other people interrupted and started talking to the waiter. The waiter dealt with them first with no apology. Our Camembert starter was cool. The mains were fine but again the sticky toffee pudding was cold. That was returned to the kitchen but took a while to be returned by which time one of us had finished our dessert. We were given a refund. The excuse of cold meals was the microwave had broken. I have to say that for some years now Tom Browns has been at the top of the list for being one of my favourite restaurants. I have always loved the quality of the food and it's hospitality. Last Saturday, 9th December I was fortunate to hold a dinner party for my daughter's 21st birthday which included her family and close friends. Altogether, there were 14 of us. The staff were absolutely faultless, attentive and engaging. Sadly, the birthday cake had collapsed and although not altogether destroyed, it would not have been nice for my daughter to have seen it presented in it's state.
