"Another absolutely fabulous meal at The Victory Inn. Christmas lunch included beautifull tasty turkey with all the trimmings, all the usual freshly cooked veg of carrots and sprouts, cauliflower and leeks in white sauce, perfectly cooked roast potatoes and parsnips, Yorkshire pud, bread pudding, pigs in blanket and stuffing. Wayne, we did our very best to eat it all but with just as tasty starters and puddings, we did leave a little bit on the plate, sorry. I've always had Christmas dinner at home and this was a real treat with the usual excellent high standard of food and service. Thank you and Merry Christmas to all. We will be returning soon."

Friday is fishing day, and the cod and chips here are the best you can find. Freshly caught that morning, they're a perfect choice for dinner!

One of the best Sunday lunches we've had, quality food, beautifully presented and plenty of it....served on a 10 plate! A huge pate starter! Friendly staff and an overall very enjoyable dining experience. Only found it by working at a job in the village but will return and recommend it to others.

family friendly pub with a few ordinary ales an extensive menu and dining room. it was a hot sunny day when we visited and we had fish and chips with heaps (mussige inherit for me! in the garden. a group of "old youngs" discussed asking the day and the other tables were occupied by families, couples and a male group. all very cozy. what is not to like.

We had a lovely experience at this restaurant. After a warm and friendly welcome, we had a brief wait for our meal, which was beautifully presented and delicious. The portion sizes were generous, and we were too full to even consider dessert! The other diners around us also seemed very satisfied with their meals. All of this came at a very reasonable price. We will definitely be back. Ver carta

large selection of beer, excellent eating. the new management has turned this pub around and it is now a great family audience with a great atmosphere and excellent dining. the staff is friendly and makes them more than welcome. I often returned while I visited my mother and her husband and that was the highest quality every time. worth visiting, especially for Sunday dinner, make sure they book first:

we visited yesterday for the first time and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere in a nice cozy bar with log burner. very friendly host. beautiful bar area with traditional board games for customers to play. had a wonderful pint of elgood’s black dog, and we both enjoyed our meals. delicious house made burger with clobpy chips and salat, plus a beautiful scampi and chips. beat the place perfectly on a cool breezy tag. we hope to go to the village soon and to be regular. maybe next time warm enough to sit outside!

"We had pre-booked a table for 6 people to have lunch at 2:15pm. We arrived on time and were shown to the table, which had only been set for 4 people which meant we had to pull a further 2 chairs up to the table, and had to request a wine list. We ordered a round of drinks for the table which took c. 15 minutes to arrive. We were waiting a considerable amount of time for a food menu. Eventually we called a waiter over to order some food and were told that the kitchen we no longer serving, despite having booked a table for lunch and not being warned of the kitchen closing time. The staff told us to be quick in ordering however took a further 10 minutes to come and take the order. The food eventually came and the waitress didn 't even put the food at the correct place, she merely put them on the table for us to distribute accordingly. When the bill eventually came, we politely requested the *optional service charge was removed from the bill as we did not feel that we had received adequate service to warrant a tip, to which the manager began shouting that it as shocking that we wanted to rightfully remove the tip. He went on to say that the kitchen staff had stayed over time to prepare our food. My question to the owner is this... if your chefs are unwilling to work over their hours, why are you offering a reservation close to closing time whilst your staff are incapable of processing the orders to the kitchens in the correct timescale and working hours. If we were told that the kitchen were closing soon, we would have cooperated with the staff to help them work to their time scales."
