Lovely meal and great atmosphere, has definitely changed in recent months since my last visit and will visit again.

Wonderful local now clean Beers really good. The landlord is really doing his best to address any issues and smarten the place up. Well done to all the staff.

I absolutely love this place, it's a fantastic spot to watch football. It has definitely gotten better since I first started coming here. The service is always excellent.

Stopped in for lunch with the family mid-week. Large menu with lots of choice including veggie/vegan options. Decent beer selection too including cask ales. Everyone enjoyed their meals including the kids.

I visited the Woodlands and was greeted by the kind staff in a very polite manner. I received great service and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The service at this restaurant was excellent from the moment we entered. They had sports playing on multiple TVs, two new dart boards, and what appeared to be a new pool table. Although we didn't dine there, the pizzas looked delicious. We will definitely be returning now that it seems like things have greatly improved.

My dad and I visit the Woodlands once a week and we are always impressed by the quality of the food for the price we pay. The real ales are well-maintained and you would be hard-pressed to find a better pint of pedigree for the same value. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the landlord is currently working on renovating the pub, which is coming along nicely. The bar is usually busier than the lounge, but both are great for different reasons - the bar is perfect for watching sports while the lounge is a nice spot for a leisurely lunch.

We've drank and eaten in this pub since moving to the area 8 years ago. It's always had potential, with a seperate dining room, bar and outside area but nobody has ever put the effort in... Until Now! Visiting today, the dining area has been re-decorated, pool table re-surfaced, new TVs, outside area going through a refit etc. New beer lines being added.. This should soon be a contender to the popular locals Red Lion and Markeaton. Bar staff always friendly and approachable, great family pub. Speaking to the new manager, it's clear he cares about the pub doing well, and is already putting in the hard work.
