"I read some reviews and heard from friends that this was thé place to eat in Cochem am Mosel, so we were very excited to find the restaurant near empty on our arrival as we had expected a wait. There was nobody to greet us as we walked in so after waiting politely waiting at the entrance for a bit we decided to seat ourselves awaiting the the host, waiter/waitress to come and greet us.It took another 5 minutes for the waitress to show up. As soon as she showed up she kindly requested us to move from the cozy booth-like spacious table to a smaller wooden table. Since the entire restaurant was empty, with the exception of one gentleman and it was about an hour before closing we did not see her point to keep the large table for non-guests so we kindly declined. The frauleins entire attitude changed and we could hear her screaming and yelling in the kitchen to the chef. She then proceeded to vent her grief to the other patron in German. One might imagine her surprise when I kindly informed her that I was able to understand her conversations ( I am Dutch so I understand the language ) and did not appreciate her treating us this way. Being used to American customer service I do lower my standards somewhat but to be told smack about a semi-professional in a small town restaurant in the middle of nowhere is not something I accept. We were looking forward to taste the local food but were quite frankly concerned that this would come with some non-sanitary condiments."

"The place is a weird mix of Mexican, American BBQ, come German fusion cuisine, kids offering are very limited to start with so not great for families, why can 't German restaurants cater for kids properly? Anyway, the live plug hanging off the wall behind our table also added a new dimension of fun with an adventurous toddler (they might want to get that checked, the plug that is, not the toddler). Food was just that, food, it provided a certain level of calorific fulfilment, although the fact the wife 's salmon was raw on the inside it remains to be seen how many calories she has left Tomorrow. My spicy salmon certainly isn 't going to burn tomorrow if you catch my drift, definitely German spicy levels. Overall I 'd describe the food as bland, like its designed to just he eaten and forgotten the moment you walk out the door. The ambiance is okay, they obviously took over a German restaurant and put a guitar and picture of a chilli on the wall to Mexican it up a bit,but guess it goes with the overall fusion theme. I must applaud the staff, though on the fact they made absolutely no attempt to hide their utter contempt for customers (except the young lad bring drinks to the table he was spot on). I can work with that,I get it they hate the job, so why not show it? No one needs a smile or friendly service. In fact, some restaurants do that on purpose, maybe its part of the theme. They get an extra mark for accepting credits cards despite it now being 2023 although apparently a mobile card reader is still a bit too modern and if you wanna pay with plastic your gonna have to make the effort to go to them."

"We were in the Eifel for a few days. As always, when we make vacation somewhere, I look forward to what restaurants are nearby. Due to the most good reviews, we reserved a table in Restaurant Noss for the first night. The parking search alone was already adventurous. Cochem was totally overcrowded and there are no private parking spaces. After we finally had a parking lot, we had to go to the restaurant for almost 10 minutes and were of course not in time. We hate ignorance! arrived, we were very nicely greeted and led into the upper floor. We could look for a table and chose a window overlooking the promenade. While everything was tied, the top carpet. The upper floor filled very quickly after we were there. We first ordered a Pils and then deepened into the map. My male ordered the slaughter plate to 12.50 Euro I chose the Rumpsteak with herbal butter to 19.30 Euro Well... and then there were long faces with us. The slaughter plate consisted of something pure and sour wort, on which a small piece of belly, a mini liver sausage, mini blood sausage, small piece of ice bone and a small sausage. Tastefully perfect, but this mini part eats my husband as an appetizer! My steak didn't look different. There was no grams, but if there was 200 grams, it was a lot. To the point fried, good meat, but too little. There were some pommes in a bowl. The Plus,Mayo and Ketchup were quite unconventional in the tubes on the table and did not cost extra. I think it's terrible if you get the Mayo in the mini dish and pay 50 cents for it. We got no bill on the table. Everything was tipped into a device and then the price was communicated to us. Did not notice what the beer costs all the other I was listed in our accommodation immediately. Therefore, no invoice amount. With tip the service was perfect, but we paid 40 euros. Conclusion: We are still in a Dungeon budget and I got a dungeon and my husband got a curry sausage,Pommes,Mayo. Then we were tired. Although the food was tastefully good, it was too expensive for these small portions and we will probably not look for this place anymore"

"We arrived at Hieronimi for one night. It was easy to find and there was a small parking lot we were able to park in, luckily when we arrived there was a space for the car. Had we arrived at dinner time parking could have been an issue. The room was exactly as advertised. The baby cot was not set up but we told the woman working and she set it up while we were out. The room for 3 adults was spacious and clean. The bathroom was modern and clean. We choose not to eat dinner at the hotel as we got hungry when we were out and about and did not want to walk back over the river.Breakfast was included in our cost which was 130 euro for one night. Breakfast was a typical German breakfast. It included cheese and meat slices, eggs, cold cereal, yogurt, fruit and bread. The baby broke a plate and the woman working was very kind about it. The trouble came when we tried to check out. I had checked that we could pay with credit card before booking the room. When we tried to pay the woman working, who appeared to be the ONLY person working at the hotel said she did not have the credit card machine. I said, listen we are leaving and have to pay with card. At this point we had limited euro cash left. Not that I should have to give a reason. She went and got the credit card machine from the office and when I went to pay she said the machine is not working. The machine said "emergency mode". When I told her I needed to pay with card she became extremely upset and was waving her hands in the air saying I needed to go to an ATM and get cash. When I told her I was not doing that and getting nailed with international withdrawal fees she got more upset and was yelling and waving her arms around. She clearly did not know how to use the machine. I asked her to calm down and call someone. She tried calling her boss after I urged her to do so but she could not get anyone on the phone. She said I could not leave the hotel until the boss arrived. I asked when that would be and she said she had no idea because the boss usually arrives 40 minutes prior to that. So basically she was holding me hostage because they have one credit card machine and one employee who does not know how to use it. I told her I was leaving at 10 am (in 20 more minutes) with or without the bosses arrival and that made her furious. I told her they could call me or I could leave the credit card number and they could run it when they sorted out their machine but this made her more hysterical. I was very calm in this situation and she wasn't, which I really did not appreciate. As she went into the kitchen and yelled about me to the kitchen worker who just arrived I pulled up the credit card manual on my phone. I finally had to insist that she allow me to try to fix the machine and she just kept yelling at me that she pushed all the buttons. This was not how I liked starting my day. I finally was able to reset the machine and bill myself for the room. When all was said and done I was a hostage for more than 30 minutes with a cranky baby and I did not get so much as a thank you. I have traveled all over the world and not ever come across something like this."
