"Went with friends for the Halloween special tea. What a treat! The shop is near the bus station, so just a short walk. The team was in fancy dress and the shop was decorated. Our table was waiting on us when we arrived--we got a brownie, a cupcake, a slice of devil 's food cake (with a 'syringe ' full of syrup to drizzle), finger sandwiches, a bite of sausage roll, crackers and tuno, a small mocktail, and a hot drink...all vegan! There were so many more lovely cakes in the display case, but we had more than we could eat with the tea. The shop is DOG FRIENDLY! Which sadly I didn 't find out until I arrived, which was a real shame because my little dog would have loved it. We made a special trip from Canterbury for the meal, and we really enjoyed it. We made an afternoon of it and hit up the charity shops afterward."

"This restaurant was absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious, especially the veggie breakfast which had an incredible veggie sausage made with whole foods, not fake meat. The avocado was also sensational. My cousins tried the crushed avocado and smoked salmon toast, which was amazing, and the full English breakfast, which was delicious as well. The server was friendly and accommodating, especially with my specific egg request. I highly recommend this restaurant, it deserves a 5-star rating. Thank you."

"You may have to wait a while, but the exceptional service at this restaurant is worth it! The staff, including a tall person with long hair and other young employees whose names I don't know, are incredibly helpful, polite, friendly, and professional. They are attentive and show empathy towards customers. Overall, the wait for their service is well worth it."

"We visited Cramptons late on a Saturday about 3.00pm and were lucky as the kitchen closes at 3.15pm. We ordered the large salsa nachos to share. When they came up the plate was huge with nachos covered in melted cheese, salsa, jalapeno peppers and separate pots of guacemole and sour cream. They were delicious and more than enough for two.I am disabled and in a wheelchair and they have a big disabled toilet which is spotlessly clean but has no lock so if people who can't be bothered to use the ordinary toilets need to go they can just walk in! Luckily this did not happen to me. I presume it is for safety reasons in case someone gets stuck in there. We read the menu while waiting for our food and they really have a lovely selection which is very reasonably priced. The other customers were really helpful holding the doors open so my husband could get me out in the wheelchair as the door opening is quite narrow.Altogether a great place and we will be back."

"We walked in and one member of our group went up to the bar to ask for a table just to be ignored. After standing and having waiters walk past us without a word for almost 10 minutes, the first thing we were told was that they were trying to seat a group at a table we were standing vaguely close to. I unfortunately can’t say anything on the quality of the food since we didn’t get served before we gave up. Plenty of people sitting in the pub stared at us and gave us weird looks, which isn’t the fault of the pub, but it gave us the same vibe as the staff: “you’re not local, so we don’t want you here.” DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU’RE A TOURIST"

"the place is large and has a lot of space to sit. it is more organized like a restaurant than a caffe and therefore feels more open than it cozy and seems better to lunch than just a coffee. they have a garden area with a view of the rye, which is quite beautiful."

"we have been completely contaminated by the quality of food. this must be one of the best restaurants in margate by far. friendly staff and together with our dog casper was very welcome in the dog friendly area. the Mexican food mixed with Sunday dinner is really inventive. the cocktails were amazing and even the dog was given gravy bones and water. our dog was so chilled that he even asked if we could go back to lol."

"We first went to Turkvaz 2 or 3 years ago when they had an extensive Turkish menu and it was amazing. They then switched to mostly pizza and everything was still ok. Recently, Turkvaz has dived in every area of quality. We ordered two weeks ago with the intention of the food coming before we had to attend an event. The food took over an hour to arrive on a quiet evening as it took the driver 35 minutes to travel less than a mile. Why? Because the old man in the blue Fiat 500 delivering drove up and down our road for 15/20 minutes looking for our house whilst driving up the kerb as he was on his phone using maps. I wouldn’t mind but it’s a perfectly normal, wide road and only has 6 houses!! Food was late, cold and not that nice, so that was a waste of £25 as it went straight in the bin and we had to leave. Fast forward to last night, nice family takeaway completely ruined by the food. We thought we’d give Turkvaz the benefit of the doubt as we have all eaten here before. It all just tasted bland like paper. The grease on everything was disgusting, the doner meat wasn’t fit for human consumption and the pizza (which they specialise in) was a box full of bland grease. No one felt particularly well after eating here. They also missed out the pitta. This is a fair review as we’ve all eaten here many times and can see the quality going down the toilet. Big improvements need to be made and we won’t be returning."

"We frequently order takeout from this restaurant when staying at our caravan in Monkton. The food is fresh and delicious. The curry sauce is not too spicy, unlike some Chinese restaurants. While the prices have increased compared to our usual spot in Essex, the portions are generous enough to feed at least three people, so it's still worth it. We will continue to order from here, as we truly enjoy the food."

"We had paid for a group afternoon tea to host my baby shower on the 29/06/24. Seeing as though I’d been here plenty of times before for drinks I assumed this would be the perfect location to host a baby shower. I couldn’t have been more wrong. To start with I had politely asked for a few specific sandwiches to have with our afternoon on the booking form I filled in prior to the event due to having quite a few fussy eaters within our group. Not one of the sandwiches I had asked for was provided. We did mention that most guests wouldn’t eat the salmon sandwiches that were provided and asked that we be given an alternative option. The owner said “we can make some up but you’ll be cutting in to your time and before you know it we’ll be chucking you out”. This wasn’t said in a light hearted manner, she was quite blunt and rude, along with other members of her staff. (Maybe you have to be rude to pass the interview process to work here). Although this was frustrating I was willing to leave it be as we was there to enjoy the planned event. However, it took staff 15-20 minutes after bringing out the sandwiches to start offering tea and coffee, which again wasn’t fantastic as they wasn’t writing down what people were ordering so were forgetting how many orders of each there were and were then being rude to members of my party when they were asking 15 minutes later if they could have their coffee. Next joke.. their afternoon tea advertisements states “a selection of homemade cakes and treats”, couldn’t have been further from the truth. We got served a selection of cakes that are frozen from Iceland, to top it off we asked staff what flavours the cakes were and they couldn’t tell us (we actually had to look up the flavours on the Iceland website). At this point the experience hasn’t been great.. but there’s more.. The owner had brought in her dog and it was tied to a table at the back of the room, right opposite the customer toilet. Now the owner warned us the dog was nervous and not to touch it however guests couldn’t even go to the toilet without the dog growling/showing its teeth and the dog actually lunged at a number of people, a couple being from our party and another male customer outside of our party. (The manager actually shouted at him for using the toilet as he wasn’t buying anything and didn’t even apologise for her dogs actions). Now im a dog person and this wouldn’t usually bother me but on the occasion I went to the toilet the dog was right forward as if guarding the area and showing its teeth at me. I believe that if it wasn’t tied to a table it would have gone to bite me. (This has been reported as clearly this is a dangerous dog and should certainly not be in a public area, especially when nervous and people are in and out all day). As we was packing up to leave my mum asked to speak to the manager in private as she wanted to discuss some of the things that had happened through out. The manager didn’t want to speak in private so the conversation was had in the main seating area. My mum first brought up about the sandwiches. Without even letting her finish the manager went on the defensive, became extremely rude and was shouting at my mum. (How this woman works in hospitality is beyond me let alone manage a place). My mum remained calm throughout and just wanted to explain her points. The lady continued to be rude and even started to mimic what my mum was saying. So if you are planning to have an event here I’d avoid at all costs. I won’t be going back here and neither will members of my party. Such a shame as the venue is in such a lovely location. It’s just a shame about the staff that work here."

"We popped in here for a bite to eat after strolling round Margate. We looked at all the menus, and found that this was simple fare and looks welcoming I had a full breakfast and my partner had the vegetarian version. The food was well presented and given with a good smile by our waitress. The options of tea and the fact it was loose leaf was good. If you’re in Margate, and fancy a cuppaor a bite, this is a great place to stop"
"Went last Wednesday for a bite of lunch down by the harbour in the sunshine. An unassuming place from the outside. The Cafe is divided into 2 parts with the second being a retail area which we didn 't try. Archive Cafe has an interesting display counter where you can see exactly what 's on offer. Inside seating area different aswell as a clutch of outside tables looking over the harbour. We chose a couple of quiches from the specials with salad. Mine was Mushroom blue cheese a side of coleslaw, all made in the kitchen. loved every last mouthful. Followed it by a Mixed berry Swedish bun, just so moist packed with flavour a coffee where clearly the barrista knew their stuff a mere americano at that. Worth searching out."

"Amazing! Kind of stumbled on the place to have breakfast because we missed it at our hotel and glad we did! My son was in his element he loved that we could go upstairs on the bus it really is a treat! We had a amazing view of the sea and the whole vibe was great! The food was wow! Incredible tasted fresh and clean if that makes sense?! Was refreshing to order such honest healthy food! This place really stood out as the best place we ate at in Margate I would definitely recommend you check it out!"

"We were on holiday in the area and saw on TA that this place does excellent Sunday lunches, so I called them up and tried to book a table. The lady I spoke to said they don’t take phone bookings, she couldn’t see the booking...system and told me to use the website online system. So I did. I submitted the Form and got an automated acknowledgment. I heard nothing back. On the morning of our booking I rang the restaurant and politely enquired if they could accommodate us for lunch … the same lady said “hold on, I’ll check” and she came back saying they were fully booked! Half an hour before my requested booking, I got an email confirming they were full. What a complete shambles of a booking system."

"My wife was presenting at the Birchington Literary Festival (writes under the name Linda M James) and we needed a light spot of lunch at 12.30 pm on Saturday 30th April. The place was nearly full as it was so popular. I ordered a sandwich, 2 americano coffees and a slice of quiche. The food and coffee were excellent and we did not have to wait very long for the waitress to bring our order. Lovely atmosphere and I do recommend coming here."

"We reserved a table for two at this restaurant. The ambience and location were beautiful. However, we found the prices to be too high. The Sunday roast menu promised a variety of meats, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and other accompaniments, but we were disappointed to receive a small portion of meat, two undercooked potatoes, and one carrot. Additionally, we ordered bread and olives as a starter, but were only served six olives. We noticed that another table of two, who had also ordered olives, received a larger portion. The restaurant also adds a service charge to the bill. On a positive note, they were able to accommodate our request for a table that could fit a pram. Overall, I am unlikely to return to this restaurant due to the high prices, lack of flavor, inconsistent service, and poor food quality."

"Have eaten here many time because I like the way the chef combines unusual flavours with a Spanish twist. However, I doubt I will be returning. The reason is, when I returned the Gambas Rojas because the stench of 'gone off ' prawns was so strong (and baring in mind prawns are my favourite dish and I 've eaten them in every way, in many places so I 'd like to think I wasn 't a fussy prawn customer), the staff couldn 't care less. I spoke to 2 waitresses about the fact I was unable to eat the very expensive dish and both gave a very unresponsive reply that said they couldn 't care less and neither would the chef, just give us your money and go. Not once did they offer the chef to make an alternative dish or anything. It felt like I was part of the fast show! Just pay the bill and clear the table for the next person."

"Very slow service. Very limited menu. Poor value for money. We ordered bread and olives for the table. We received a small bowl of olives, three slices of sourdough bread (for 4 diners? and some flavoured butter no plates or butter knives. The menu had recently changed and was more limited than the summer menu. The only vegetarian main dish was unavailable, as it had apparently not been prepped. The chicken and leek pie had been heavily flavoured with a herb (tarragon? which was not mentioned on the menu, and which gave it a very strong liquorice/aniseed flavour. The pie itself was very big, and generously filled, but very much more leek than chicken, and the chicken appeared to be thigh rather than breast meat. The haddock and chips was generous, but the skin had been left on the fish. The single dessert ordered (rice pudding had an excessive amount of topping which overpowered the flavour of the rice. Service took so long that we were at our table for well over two hours."
