"We arrived bang on 12 pm for lunch. We were 5, visiting from England and had booked in advance. The couple don't speak much English. The lights were turned on as we arrived. The welcome, warm. The place is rustic old charm with an emphasis on racing car pictures on the wall. Chef looks well fed. Just as well as I never trust a thin chef. The menu is a blackboard brought to the table, reflecting a changing menu. A good sign we thought and a nice touch. The menu is never too comprehensive and reflects what is in season and available at market. The menu today was based on Beef, chicken brochettes, fish and veal. My wife and I had the Beef rib (which was enough for 3 people really), our 7 year old had chicken brochettes, and our mothers had the Veal which was served with grilled cheese on it. Accompaniments were potato salad and grilled vegetable tagine, all good. The meat was succulent and excellent. The service was good although when busy they could do with help, perhaps. There were plenty of local office workers in for lunch too. Water and wine was not regularly poured but that is in keeping with the atmosphere and price. We didn't have starters and dessert. The wine was very good, a Saint-Emillion, rouge at around 30 Euros per bottle. We rounded off with coffees and our daughter had a great chocolate ice cream which seemed rich and home made. Coffee was excellent. A Main Course is around 20-30 euros a person but they do a fixed price menu at around 22 euros.If you are looking for a typically french restaurant with old style rustic food, this will fit the bill nicely. Well recommended. Why doesn't it get 5 stars? Hard to put your finger on it. It is undoubtedly very very good but not a special occasion place."

A homey and cozy bistro decorated with many pictures of liqueur, spirit and car racing. Food was traditional and hearty. Great place for chit chat with friends.

Bien manger c'est bien quand même , même si le tarif est un peu élevé, faut bien payer les charges , donc forcément et la qualité est la dommage pas grand monde ce soir la . Mais à refaire

Madame is always friendly and accommodating. A place we return to in Reims. A little Parma ham, cheese, bread and a green salad is a perfect light meal when spending the day tasting champagne. Ver carta

Small restaurant with 1970's country style decor. Dishes are French classic, most home made. The menu of the day ("plat du jour") list all the dishes served on the day. Mostly frequented by locals.

Plat du jour, soit hachis parmentier + fromage OU sorbet cassis = 16, 95 euros. Ajoutez-y 1 apéritif classique, 1\4 de vin en pichet et 2 cafés et vous repartez avec une note de 52 euros pour 2. Un peu cher tout de même....

Ce restaurant est proche des caves de Taittinger et donc nous y avons déjeuné avant la visite. L'intérieur est un peu vieillot mais ça fait son charme. La carte propose des plats variés. Les prix un peu élevés mais justifiés par la qualité des produits. Ver carta

an absolutely classic French restaurant with rural cuisine. it was just delicious, there are also huge portions. we had delicious meat pot, black and honeymelon with ham from the gas kogne. unfortunately the restaurant closes this summer. we had the great joy to eat here.

Martel Cellars suggested as it is only a short walk from the cellars, and others. Opens at noon, so plan accordingly. We expected a small lunch cafe. The menu was amazing. Really a dinner menu. Madame spoke little English but we got buy, using a translator and gestures. Fun. The food amount was so much we shared a plate and added an extra dish. Really good food! The only kicker was the cost - more than we would pay in Paris. Lots of locals coming in for lunch, perhaps as their main meal of the day. It sure was for us. The decor has lots of car racing posters. I would definitely go there again given the opportunity.

"After a very positive first experience, we decided to renew. we enjoyed traditional fries, excellent (and copied) burgers and very good pastries after a reasonable expectation (1/4 h) being given the quality of the products, all for a very good value for money. What a disappointment during our 2nd visit! we waited 1/2h (more than in a classic restaurant, it's still a fast food). while a tabloid of about 10 other people, who arrived after us, were served before us almost without waiting. I was kind of worried about the hostess who tried to explain to me that it was due to the preparation of my wife’s day dish: a pike! being the exclusive user of barbecue and plancha at home, she should have refrained from using such a rude excuse. It was more simply a privileged habit that we do not wait...During this time, our meat had to wait (also...) on a corner of the grill since it was archi too cooked and then, not good. (Sauce was painfully masking the taste of burnt). Traditional fries have left room for classic industrials. The pie was missing freshness. Only the cheese cake was correct. We do not understand such a change in such a short time, especially when reading the Director's answers to certain negative opinions. but perhaps is he on leave? (when the cat is not there...). One last thing: the breathable hood must work very badly, you take the graillon out and go back to work in the afternoon, it's not great... we won't come back."
