Nous arrivons à midi, dans ce restaurant bondé. Service acceuillant, rapide malgrés le monde, nous avons bien mangé à un prix très raisonnable , bref aucune fausse note.

Une ambiance très familiale anime ce petit établissement agréable.Des buffets d'entrées et de dessert varié et de très bonne qualité, Une adresse a conseiller pour manger bien et pas cher

OUI il est possible de manger a petit prix et de très bonnes choses si vous venez a Confolens.évidement ce restaurant n'est pas à la mode mais il suffit de savoir que le chef a travaillé à l'abattoir de la ville pour comprendre pourquoi je fait le détour pour aller manger chez lui .Vous ne trouverez que du frai et a petit prix et pourrez découvrir une des meilleur viande de france

Not surprising that it is busy, filled each day with people from the local workplaces. Good basic french cooking, presented plainly, but no danger of leaving the premises feeling underfeed!

Comme nous vous venez de faire une promenade en vélo rail et vous cherchez un petit restaurant au prix raisonnables. Pas d'hésitation, dirigez vous en face, au Café de la Gare, précisément. L'accueil est chaleureux et sans artifices . Entrées à volonté sous forme d'un buffet de saison, frais et généreux . Une excellente viande cuite à point et des desserts simples et variés . Op een onverwachte plek een simpel restaurant dat door de plaatselijke bevolking druk bezocht wordt. Tegenover het voormalige SNCF station ligt dit restaurant met ongelooflijk lage prijzen en een buffetformule die succesvol blijkt. Voor iets minder dan € 14 p.p. saladebuffet, dagschotel, kaas, toetje en koffie.... Soms komt er een toerist binnen die het advies op Tripadvisor wil controleren, maar in het algemeen hoor je hier alleen gesprekken in het patois van deze omgeving.

We were finding it difficult to find a place for lunch on a monday in Confolens, everywhere seemed shut so we thought we would try the station cafe that we had driven past earlier in the holiday.They had a 12.50 euro set four course lunch which also included wine and water! We had been meaning to go to the Cafe de la Gare but reading other reviews about the restaurant we suspected that it would be like a transport cafe, French style for local workers. How wrong can one be ! We were welcomed in to a nice friendly restaurant with a new bar and two dining rooms with lots of small tables. Very relaxed atmosphere with a friendly French waitress. She explained the set menu with a buffet starter and dessert with a choice of 3 plat du jour.
