"We were shown to a nice table by a poor waitress. Drinks were plonked on the table by the same girl. Our first cause of prawns with chilli sauce was very nice . This was when things went down hill . My wife had scampi which was over cooked . My pie looked like someone had sat on it but tasted ok. The three times cooked chips were the worst chips I have ever had like crisps and cold. During our meal a large party moved into the next table which made talking impossible. My friend did complain on the way out but I will just not go again ."

Enjoyed a lovely evening at the Fox and Coney Inn. The food was excellent. i recommend the meat 'filled ' pie...and it was filled!!! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Thank you to our waitress Megan for making our evening a really nice experience. We also enjoyed a drink in the lovely garden...with heaters provided ... before heading home. We will def drink eat here again.

Last minute decision for a night away, rang to book a room and they sorted a table for an evening meal. Staff very pleasant and professional, room was very clean and really nicely refurbished and a lovely ensuite bathroom. Evening meal was outstanding, best steak pie I have ever had and great service although very busy. Great stay, would happily recommend and will definitely be back. Keep up the good work

Food was poor at best was served the wrong starter to start with, and then charged me for it….which was acknowledged and then was served a roast dinner that was so dry it was like it came from the Sahara desert… Disappointed and a very very poor reflection on its sister pub Triton. Won’t be returning unless dragged kicking and screaming!! Disappointed and Shocked! Paid in full with a complaint Service was really good, chefs need to take a look at themselves, roast potatoes really dry!! Poor poor poor!

"Visited today with my wife and month old daughter whilst we are on holiday in the area. We didn’t have a booking but this wasn’t a problem, the staff were friendly throughout and accommodating about lack of booking. We asked for a children’s menu...(website says they have one) but we were advised it’s was the basket meals menu which they advertise as selling to guests sat outside, they did also mention they could make a smaller portion of something from the adult menu. The basket meals menu is mainly fried food and chips, the kind you might share with friends over drinks, I wouldn’t call it a children’s menu. To me a children’s meal should at least come with some option of veg/salad/beans and ideally not be fried, plus the chips that arrived with her chicken bites were salted, not great for little ones. We didn’t make a fuss as for one meal as a treat we weren’t unduly worried but it would put me off going back with children. They also charged the full basket meal price so no reduction for children. Our meals, fried garlic mushrooms, salt and pepper chicken goujons to start then a beef burger and chicken burger as mains, arrived promptly and were generous portions. The food was fine, nothing spectacular just average pub food. The main issue on our visit and the thing that made the whole meal much more stressful and unenjoyable was the flies, we were sat in what they called the restaurant area and our whole meal start to finish was disrupted by or flies continuously buzzing round us, trying to land on our food and land on us, not fun. I accept that or flies can be around when doors or windows are open and it’s hard to stop them coming when food is around but or round us and more to be seen in the room seems too many to me, it really put us off especially when they were landing on our daughter. At the point of eating the meal we didn’t raise the issue as we couldn’t see that anything could be done about it and I’m sure the staff are not a fan of the flies either. I did raise the issue whilst paying and was told they knew about the problem and were doing their best to solve it, sadly for us it would stop me wanting to go again. All in all not a great experience and the food whilst nice enough wasn’t good enough to overcome the issue of the flies and the lack of a proper children’s menu."
