Very good location to celebrate carnival. The beer flows constantly! Haus Unkelbach is easily accessible via public transport as there is a metro station just across the street.

A bit difficult to find a parking space, but once there the traditional local atmosphere brightens your evening. There is plenty of choice on the menu card, and the small beer glasses are filled automatically by the waitress when empty. Ver carta

You need to get away from all the tourist areas to find this little treat. The tram station is right outside though. Authentic German food and drink, in fact the menu is only in German, but the people and staff are very kind and willing...to help the tourists.

Don't be fooled by the typical dated Deutsche Kneipe look. If you are a tourist this is where you will find traditional, fresh food. In the summer make sure to be seated in the the beer garden. (Btw, you don't have to wait to be...seated. if you are adventurous try the Flöns (blood sausage) with Himmel (apple sauce/compote) and Äad (mashed potatoes).

fantastic meal and the great table service that Köln is known for, not many tourists there but everyone is welcome. authentic heavy german food, with german only menus, but this adds to the atmosphere. the people and staff around there are always happy to help/translate...to english if needed. i have eaten there many times and its one of the must do each time i am in köln.
