"I had lunch with my wife at the restaurant in the Waldshut old city on a cold and rainy day. We had a quick look at the menu displayed in the box on the wall outside and decided that we liked what we saw. We...entered and came into a cosy and warm old-style restaurant. The restaurants exists since and is managed by the current owners since We were quickly seated by a friendly waitress who took our order after a few minutes. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and I liked the paper place-mats with a painting by Pieter Bruegel The Peasant Wedding very fitting to the restaurant interior. My wife ordered the Goulash soup and a large mixed salad. I got the Zigeunersteak. We had a small König Ludwig Hell beer for my wife and a large Dunkel for me. The beer came quickly and all the dished were brought together as we asked. The food was very good. The staff friendly and quick and we enjoyed the experience and will certainly come again on our next trip to Waldshut. The bill, excluding tip was Euro"

Friendly staff and delicious food! I highly suggest to go there if you want to eat german specialities. Just remember to save space for the desserts!!!

My friend and I were looking for a place for lunch that had atmosphere but was not over priced. I think we have a new favorite spot. They serve Rösti and Schweinsbraten among many other German dishes. You may have to make reservations if you...want to sit upstairs, but the cellar was clean and private. The food was delicious and the wait staff was friendly.

Looking for a good restaurant, we came here just by chance. I have to be honest despite the restaurant being in the pedestrian zone. In our opinion the service and food deserve a 15/10. We felt very comfortable. The food was delicious and the waiter was super attentive and friendly. All in all, a restaurant that we will come back to when we are in the area. Keep it up!
