decent real pub in an interesting half-timber house, in the city center. they serve mainly pizzas and a few other dishes. some veggie options. good size components. the place is busy, so make a table if they want to eat here in any case.

Walked in today for a bit of lunch and was presently surprised! Great food! The lamb was top notch! The service and drinks were excellent also. They bought out an incorrect dish which was similar to another but when told it was wrong, apologised and bought out the correct one in 10 minutes...no fuss. Will go again.

Beautiful medieval building full of character. The staff were attentive and friendly, and our meal both very tasty and promptly served. I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment, and only wish I lived closer so that visiting could be a regular occurrence but will hopefully be returning in the future. Lovely place!

Called in for lunch, friendly staff, clean loo's ! Had a slight issue with my beefburger but it was quickly resolved, whisked away another recooked. Hubby had the chicken burger said it was very nice. Average prices. Plenty of room, quirky pub. My final bill reflected the problem. I have no issues returning to this pub when we are next in the area.

Wow what a find, met some friends for my wife's birthday we each live about an hour and a half away in opposite directions so this was ideal location. Could not have been a better night. Fantastic pub excellent food and lovely hosts. Chilled atmosphere and we all felt comfortable in our skins laughing and joking all night. Looking forward to going back.

We were looking for somewhere nice to eat on our first visit to the town, and found this nice pub on Google so gave it a try. A very nice pub with lots of little areas to sit, plenty of character and charm. Food was reasonably priced and we both ordered pies, which were cooked with lovely thick chips and kale in a garlic butter. We were pleasantly surprised with Newark in general, and would happily eat here again if we return to the town

Went on a quiet night, good for drinks but don’t bother with food waited 45 mins before being told food would be another 10mins for burger, lasagna and fish and chips. Can’t believe any of this is freshly made, don’t have it on the menu if you can’t serve it in less than an hour this is a pub. Ultimately shockingly slow service and unapologetic staff. No sign of the food an hour later when we were eventually given a refund and left if this is the standard when quiet I dread to think what it’s like when busy.

tudor stil holz vorn pub. many veggie options, they need to ask for the vegan menu. there are 5 vegan options and they need barnivore to check the beer. I should have photographed the vegan menu as it is not currently displayed on the website! hopefully another happy Cow member can add this. we had the beetroot falafel and flatbread, and the Thai style edemame bean burger. it is nice to have the right vegan food! well presented and delicious. there are places in newark with more options, but eating and service here is great if you need a pub style meal.

Me and my friend came to the Prince Rupert on the off chance to get out of the rain. We’re so glad we did! Wow! The team were so friendly and welcoming and the pub itself is quaint, quirky and cosy. We had some drinks, which were lovely and ordered food. We started with the camembert which was so good that we sat in silence the whole time it was on the table. Flavours were to die for. The food was absolutely incredible, we’ve been eating out for 10+ years and this is hands down the best meal out we have had. We both had the steak and ale pie, one with mash one with chips.
