The usual German fare at very reasonable prices. Service was very friendly and food was good. Try the goulash or spargelcreme suppe if it is asparagus season.

With each meal you get a free soup and a very fresh self-serve salad bar is also included. We had the Jagerschitzel and each a Weizen beer and we only payed 29€. The friendly service was included for free.

Rude waiter! Did not take orders from several in our travel party and told them to leave. After one hour he had still not waited on several tables, but gave service to newly arrived, very disappointing... Don't visit!

Nice Gerrman restaurant - best place and wiew in this great historic town, on a rainy day like we did, no problem getting a table for 4 . sure to make reservation in season, great experience nice salad buffe - kindly served - love it

We had dinner with family and had the special of the say. They ran out of the soup of the day which was a little disappointing but it was substituted for another kind. The meal was very good and you had soup. Main course and dessert for under 13E

This Restaurant is located in the very hart of this scenic town of Monschau, serving Typical German food, nice salad bar and day soup to your dish, - you have the wiew of the mid town area included.. great place , also for older people (no stairs) kindly serving.

Service was pretty good. The menu was traditional German cuisine (which is what we wanted) and the food was good quality. Sometimes when you visit the touristy places in Germany, the food can be quite low quality but this restaurant was very good. I would certainly come back if I return to Monschau.

Visited this fall with our teens for a warm lunch while is was pouring outside. Friendly uncomplicated atmosphere. Food is simple, tasty and plentiful, traditional German. Great value for money too, certainly taking the Monschau central location into account. We left well fed and good humoured back into the rain to continue our hike.

Booked a table here on the strength of its TripAdvisor ratings. You definitely need to book, it's very busy most evenings.The salad bar was ok, but not as good as some side salads we've had elsewhere. We both ordered the pork steak with onions and bratkartoffeln. The pork was a bit pink for our liking, although it did taste good. The onion sauce was very salty though, and the bratkartoffeln were swimming in oil.The service was quick, which was good, but the place seemed somewhat lacking in atmosphere, despite being full.All in all a bit of a disappointment, and I can't see what the great TripAdvisor recommendations come from.
