"I visited with two business visitors from Germany. I'll set their expectations high as in my experience shaheens never disappointed. the consistent excellence of adham and his family is unique in durham. I say this is actually durhams no 1 restaurant. we had a fantastic meal, dressed with a mix and the result, as expected, was from my guests that this was a wonderful experience. as always the onion bhaji signature court was the exit point, but everything to follow was excellent. recommended without reservation!"

"Visited at happy hour....the staff are super friendly, I ordered the potato skins, onion rose and Texas 2step. I think the happy hour portions may be slightly smaller compared to the pics in reviews.....but for this I am glad as there was more than enough and good value for money. 1st off the onion rose.....how can onion taste this good??! One of the tastiest things ive ate in a while. The ribs and chicken came out, the ribs were delicious and tender.....I thought I wouldn't eat the chicken goujons as was already full...but they surprised me how nice they were so ended up eating them all. All round great meal, definitely recommend."

"started really well and went to the counter and ordered a cream with bananas and nutella and especially gave no earthberries I also asked after a san pelegríno still water as this was on the menu. I was the first person to order and the last to eat at the end. I brought my water over which was a cheaper brand water I just had £2 for what I would like to have seen? we will, when asked for san pelligrino to say water that they do not in. Finally my crepe and I take a bite and understand that it is earthly on the whole species and wise by which I am allergic. one of my family members takes it back and says that I have asked for bananas, there is no earthly reason why I cannot eat it and did not want it on my crepe. then 5 minutes later another crêpe comes out, who was my bite crêpe, that someone had put the earthy and banan in the bananas. disgusting ... not sure whether this was a mistake or just stingy either as it did not. it is then returned because there is no way I eat, and it is explained again, there is a reason that I can not eat strawberries, to which then one of the owners passes to serve the right crepe and apology. I really hope that today a lection has been learned because cross-contamination is not a sweat. please be careful when they eat there. I didn't get any refunds offered, but then they were ready to serve me a bite crawl, so it didn't surprise me so much."

"a little more pricier than most pub grub but also better than the majority of pub foods. a very nice friendly pub, ideal for a beautiful family meal. our meals lasted longer than I am used to, but not worthy complaining, and my mother always told me that this could be a good thing, as they make their food fresh, not warm up something. I'm very looking forward to a return visit."
